I've, again, been reading bits of my copy of 'The Henry Root Letters'. It's a good laugh.

They were real letters, and some got replies, written to famous people (including the Queen and Maggie Thatcher) written by a fictitious character.

This is the obituary of the author (died 13 years ago).

          Obituary: William Donaldson

The book was a best seller and the original letters were sold last year for over £7,500.

I love Robert Goddard. He either sets his books in different eras or it's set nowadays with flashbacks etc.

Hello @wiseowl Just been looking your book up...is this the read of yours? :)

At Last a Life and Beyond is the sequel to my best selling book 'At Last a Life'. This latest title is packed with information on how to overcome anxiety and what keeps people in the loop. The book will cut out all the jargon and give you a clear perspective on how to overcome all of your anxiety and panic issues.

In this book you won’t find a list of techniques, rules or methods, as you don’t need them. I am sure you have tried enough of these and still found little relief. Techniques, rules and methods usually take effort and are mostly built on suppression of feelings, which is the complete wrong approach. Anxiety is your mind and body’s way of telling you that you are already overdoing it with effort, both mentally and physically, so the last thing you want is to add more effort.
If you want to free yourself from the prison you currently find yourself in and rediscover the true you, then this book will finally give you all the answers you need.

@Gail_68 If you want to read the diary you can do it for free.I just Googled about it then scrolled down and there are all the entries when you click on it.The one problem I found was some words were highlighted or was it italics:scratch: anyway I would click on the word and then it opened out so would read what the word meant but then on this iPad I struggled to get rid of the box and it started doing my head in.Quiet a few readers left their take on each days entries and some of them would read a days entry each day so it took them as many years to read the diaries as the time spent writing them:biggrin: I also had to write down where I had got to or else but ended up reading the same bit twice over and that was really only for the seven days that I read:biggrin:

I keep starting to read The Bible but found that hard going as well.I often wonder if anyone has actually read it from start to finish instead of all the bits we learnt at Sunday school and the films about the stories on the telly:smile:

PS,I see you have called Shiney, Christ in one of your previous posts:love30:

@Kandy I don't think it would be a type of book I could read..i use an e-reader 6 and like you, you can press on the word and it tells you the meaning which is great when there's history in the books.
I can actually say I had no choice on reading the bible from front to back...when doing RE at school, Christ i'm going back some years

I didn't call sheal Christ...I put Christ sheal conversation (Re-read it :roflol:)

I haven’t seen your post to Sheal,I was referring to the post numbered #261 where you wrote Christ @shiney so that is what you were ferrering to that Shiney is Christ.I think I had better go back to sleep:heehee: Knowing Shiney he will have read Pepys diaries over and over again:snorky:

We did RE at school but don’t remember reading it from cover to cover but then again might have done but read it all mixed up:biggrin:
