Join in Royal Mail performance monitoring at Questionnaire

You only get paid a small amount in stamps, but you get to stamp out behaviour such as leaving stuff on the doorstep, signing for tracked signature required deliveries themselves, leaving 'no answer' cards when you're in, leaving your post in the van untill the following day when they're running late and finish before completing deliveries, and all the other tricks they get up to. They only do it once.

Neither postmen/women or van couriers wait long enough for you to answer the door before they move on.

Our postmen are all very good. :blue thumb: They know where to leave things if we're not in but always knock first. Any post we want to send just gets put in the outside of the letterbox and postie takes it for us.

The last time we had trouble with some by courier was 43 years ago and that was a rotovator that they couldn't be bothered to bring it the 100ft to the door.

Again, my Postie's are very good. He/She will use the door knocker and wait patiently, one even shouted over the tall side gate to attract my attention when I was in the garden:snorky: I had a delivery of plants, via a Courier, last week and the driver was concerned that one of the bottom corners of the box was damp and pointed it out to me. She wasn't happy until I opened the box and inspected the plants inside to make sure they were okay:thumbsup::snorky:

Our posty is very good, but someone was ill so our posty had to do their round and leave our one, i don't mind things that are true, i just hate it when they have to twist things so they look good at your expense :mad::mute:

We had a female postie who used to finish our village's round by 10:30, without taking shortcuts such as doorstepping packages. Our current postman is almost as fast and doesn't make mistakes or take shortcuts.

When they've been on leave/off sick, it's taken up to 3 (three) posties to replace them, doorstepping mail, missing out streets, and taking up to 4:30 in the afternoon to finish deliveries.

And our (Hermes) courier is exceptional, flagging us down whilst out dog walking to give us our parcels, meaning we opt for purchases delivered by that courier above cheaper ones delivrred by other companies. There ought to be a way the most best workers get to benefit more than the sloppy inconsiderate ones.

Agreed, Scrungee. It was a Hermes driver that delivered the box with the damp corner and wanted to make sure it was okay. Actually, Hermes drivers are not that well paid, but then that's the case for most Courier drivers.:wallbanging::dunno:;)

I forgot to mention that I try and do my bit in that respect, giving them bottles of my homemade wine to show my grattitude for exceptional service.

Our postie always gets a Christmas tip and if he needs any plants we can usually sort them out for him.

Mail is a hit and miss experience here.

I live at #1 ... but then so do half a dozen of my neighbours! :snorky:

If a courier company employs drivers who are not fluent in English (likewise with any substitute post person) my mail could end up in half a dozen different places :gaah: I'm very quick to take any miss placed mail to the correct house, just a pity the same courtesy is not returned

Last month, Mr "M" was waiting for a particular delivery (Amazon purchase) and was keeping an eye out for the courier. He saw the courier park up outside, so opened the front door expectantly ... while the courier walked past our entry way ... "Hello! I think that is for me!" :) he said ... the courier looked  read the label and said, "No! Noomber 1" :nonofinger:
                              Mr "M" persisted; "Yes, #1 ... Villas!"
Courier:  "No! Noom-ber O.N.E!" and continued on to another "Villas"
Mr "M": "Look up, man!" and pointed, somewhat frantically, to the name tablet above our property ... "#1 .... VILLAS!!!"
Courier:    :shakehead: You have! I no have time! :nonofinger:
.. and thrust the package at Mr "M" got back in his van and drove off :lunapic 130165696578242 5: (yes, it was for him ;) )

Mail/parcel/courier services are not perfect and for a variety of reasons ;)

Someone said that he's probably good to us because he gets a tip but then comes the 'chicken and egg' argument. :heehee: Is he good because he gets a tip or does he get a tip because he's good?
