    Has anyone tried out macro filters before? I don't / won't do enough macro work to justify shelling out on a bespoke lens but thought for the cost of a few filters it's worth a go to experiment a bit with

      @Loofah
      I've tried one and I'm quite pleased with the results, some of the pictures can be found in the Macro thread on GC. I've got a Hoya filter +4-52mm Product Code: 024066520388.

        Well that's good news. I'm only looking at a cheap set to get the feel for it but got to be better than forking over several hundred spondoolas.

        I'll check out the macro section...

                  Well, at one time there used to be a Macro Competition.......but it faded after a while due to lack of support and entries, Loofah.:dunno::wallbanging::snorky:

                    Hi Loofah I bought these last year, New Nikon to say ive only been used to bridge cameras before and spent very little time with my new camera they work very well, the water droplets pictures was taken with them in the 2017 macro thread NEW MACRO THREAD FOR 2017, that was my first and only attempt, this year I will spend more time learning the camera,

                    They get a :blue thumb: from me considering a macro lens can cost £200 ++++.

                    Should / could it be moved to locate it more appropriately?

                    Well that's good news - mine are in the post but it's good to know someones experience of them. I'll keep an eye out for new pics!

                        How about Photography Talk

                        There's already, for example, an HD sticky thread so it seems a more obvious location than in a competition thread when there's no competition... Just my opinion of course, don't feel compelled!
