Several weeks ago I confirmed with BHGS that inclusion of Kondor on their website was an error, but they still haven't corrected it.

          But that sounds promising.

@Jack McHammocklashing Could you let me have their contact details?

P.S. According to the Scottish Seed Potato Crop Register 2017 Scottish Seed Potato Crop Register 2017 | SASA (Science & Advice for Scottish Agriculture) no Kondor seed spuds were grown in 2017 (for planting 2018).

I think folks who are holding Kondor, would do best to grow them normally to grow seeds for future years. I would guess there is no stock in the UK at all, it would have to be sourced abroad to start Kondor off again.

And maybe the characteristic that grew Glazebrooks WR, will not be in newly sourced stock.

          Just my best guess.

I've just checked where I get my seed potatoes from being very local to me Seed Potatoes – Bridgend Garden Centre and no joy for Kondor. They are selling over 200 varieties but not the 1 you are after.

That was another place I checked as soon as they published their list, they sold them last year, but not this year.

There is another large variety I want to try as an alternative, Kennebec, they were grown in 2017 to produce seed potatoes for this year, but I can't find any being sold. EDIT: Found them (I hope) Dundry Nurseries - 302 varieties of seed potatoes in our database It might be the first year this variety has been available in the UK, previously I've only seen it advertised in the US.

@Steve R They do mail order, not mentioned on their website, but arranged by phoning.

I got through OK, but initially to somebody who tried to tell me they either didn't sell Kennebec/or if they did had sold out, but after I insisted it was listed as being 'in stock' passed me to a knowlegeable colleague who knew exactly what they had in stock and sorted out my order.

They were on the list of the places selling seed spuds I was considering visiting, but I've opted to go to Dorset for my winter break next week, but if heading for Exmoor would have gone via Dundry to make the most of my trip.

Yup, they answered my email and confirmed this whilst I was trying to phone again...before they closed. Couple of other varieties for me to try there also.

I've severely cut down on overall amount of spuds grown this year, so I can try others.

Same here, this year I'm only growing around a dozen of each of a dozen varieties to have a complete reappraisal of the varieties I grow.

Sorry @Scrungee @silu has replied to the posting and we use the same supplier, looks like they have just uploaded last years web page of varieties and not edited it

                        Regards Jack

I've ordered some Kennebec this morning, hopefully it will give me some decent sized spuds for baking...one spud "mansize" on a plate...lol

Ordered 3kg, they now only have 3kg left in stock, so it was close. Ordered a few other varieties too.

                          Steve...:)

That's good, I was hoping they'd sell well because it should mean they'll get some more next year.

Shame they did not have Ratte, that's the last one on my hitlist for this year.
