@Snorky85 When having building jobs done only hand over a small deposit because if they're established builders they should have the money to cover the cost of what they're doing...as there's so many con-merchants out there :)

-6 or -7 here last night, lots of wilting flowers & buds. Couldn't fleece everything so fingers crossed they perk up. I don't think the daff flowers will though mind you :noidea:

Thanks Gail, luckily we know him (he's done a great job on two of our neighbours houses and comes highky recommended). Still going to get a few quotes though.

                        Digressing a bit.

When employing tradesmen to do jobs, whenever they told me "We'll start on Monday," I've always said, "Make sure you're back on Tuesday." Many builders have the annoying habit of starting a job when they say they will, but then disappearing the following day, to finish the job they were doing the previous week. They do that to stop you engaging someone else if they don't turn up on the day they promised.

Snorky, tell every builder you are getting quotes.....I find this makes them more competitive. If the best builder isnt the cheapest just ask if he will match it. In my experience he will do or get pretty close to it:)

Eek you can try avoid the chlorine burn by spraying the water through a hose to aerate it-the gasses can naturally dispurse. Or you should be able to get a bottle of dechlorinator (if you can leave the house!!)

Thanks @Riley and Verdun! Will be interesting to see different quotes anyway. Weve got an idea of what it might cost but always get quotes (I'm *an auditor so like to go by the book lol).

Thank you Snorky, defrosting the hose is a issue and its just taken me a hour to drive a ten minute run, i had to fill the pond with buckets i couldn't leave it it would have froze the little bit left in the pond and killed the fish,

I cant really do any more hope there was enough water left to mix it enough and not cause the fish to much discomfort :fingers crossed:
