I put some food out for them, one turned up and started hiding food in a pile of snow it disappeared then brought family members back with it, they was playing in the pile of snow after feeding lovely to see them bouncing around :).

          Nice one Martin :)

There be Lapwings flapping about in the field behind me. Too far away to get a pic though.

Thank you Zigs, lovely looking birds we get a few on the land i metal detect on, i found a nest with eggs while detecting one day, farmers in this area are doing good work with the fields with dedicated planting of crops to try and increase there numbers.

Thank you Kandy i will move the car on the drive tonight i have a more powerful security light on the drive that will light them up better,

Love the fieldfares Kandy and nice to see the blackbirds all together, there usually fighting for territory at this time of year, they must have called a truce while the weather improves :).

Been for a walk with Mr Kandy but had to cut it short as the fine snow and wind chill was getting too much so walked round our wood instead:biggrin:

Walked into the kitchen and spotted these little beauties feeding on my peanuts and Virburnham.... (Long Tailed Tits)

Beautiful little birds Kandy :), they cuddle up together at night through the winter to keep each other warm, i presume its one reason they hang around in flocks.

A few more visitors this afternoon.

Very envious of having Fieldfares in the garden @Kandy, in fact I haven't seen one since November.
Snow all day so the birds are struggling to get to the food. (The slow shutter speed makes the snow look like rain!)

@Kandy, I have just read that a Garganey was seen this morning in exactly the place where I was yesterday, I missed it by a day! :wallbanging: First ones usually pass through here in mid March/early April.

Lovely photo @roders and I assume you back on to fields to get such a handsome bird in your garden:love30: Things must be bad in the fields if they are venturing into peoples gardens,& you might be lucky enough to get Pheasants in like Shiney gets:biggrin:

@strongylodon we managed to get a Garganey the other week when we had a day out with friends over at Brandon Marsh. Did you get to see the Ross’s Gull that was down your way?
It never fails to amaze me how the Fieldfare and Redwing remember my garden for food as I haven’t see the Redwing since he came into the garden when we had the last lot of snow to eat all my Pyracantha berries.

@martin-f I see you have Woody back in your garden,I reckon we are sharing the same bird:biggrin: I saw that programme on the telly where that chap had filmed around a dozen Long Tailed Tits huddled together on that line and they all looked snuggly and warm together.I think it was on Springwatch but it might have been on Hughes programme on a Saturday:scratch:

Hope you capture the foxes again tonight

@Kandy I went to Weymouth to see the Ross's Gull but it was out at sea and (I heard) that it came back to Radipole RSPB briefly shortly after I left (and I went to Lodmoor RSPB instead!).

The Long Tailed Tits were on the Hugh Whittingstall programme, Hugh's Wild West which has shown quite a few areas local to me.

With this weather it may return @roders :fingers crossed:
