You and gardening! What is the magnetism?

Anyone who needs manure should just pop into their local council HQ. The pkace is full of manure in my experience.:poop: :sorry:

 

yep lots of horses around here also.
The one free one I know of, who puts it in a bin over their fence, has been dug out to a depth of two feet by someone who turned up with a trailer, and does so regularly.
Otherwise it varies between 50p to a pound a bag.
You cant get much in a bag.

 

There is plenty of horse poo here too. The trouble is it’s fresh and of no use. I still have half a bag left from the load I got last summer. It will be added to the compost bin once it’s up and running. I know somebody who said they had a sustained pile of poo I could take from. Maybe I will look into it when the need arises.

Maybe @pete passed a pile or three when he went to fetch his car nearer to shineyland to load his plants ... and ended up walking a mile?

Just keep it in the sun and let nature do the rest. Then you can cut out the middle man of putting it into your compost bin.
I once asked on here what to do with bags of horse manure if there was no room in the compost bin and I recall being advised to simply put it in a pile in a sunny spot and let nature do the rest. Yours has a bit of a head start if it has been left to sweat in a bag.
The reason for not using it "fresh" is because it can "burn" plants/foliage. I think now 6 months have passed yours may not be classified as "fresh"?

 

Then, statistically, you can't ask for more than that

 

When did the term "thousands" equate to "a bit"? Asked the pessimist of the optimist?
