WHAT JOBS ARE WE DOING IN THE GARDEN TODAY 2018

Snorky, I remember repotting my mum's huge cactus when I was a schoolboy. On th principle a bed of nails doesnt hurt I upturned the bloomin thing onto the palm of my hand. The pain from thousands of miniature barbs was excruciating. For months later I was still removing them from my hand. A lesson learned!!

It's dried put now and much warmer. All I've done is removed two inches of ice from both the birds water bowls and bird bath, then refilled them. Scooped some floating leaves off the pool.

 

ouchy!!!! Must have been agony! I once came off my mountain bike and landed full speed into a gorse bush-that was literally months of thorns coming out my hands, face, under finger nails, back etc etc.

 

Fallen into gorse bushes snorky? Done that too. Isnt nature wonderful??

 

Well been outside and taken off all the bubblewrap and blankets which are now in the wash. The brown bin garden waste got collected despite the snow (good old bin men!) so have chucked some more stuff in that.

Put poor Bendy the fish back in the pond. He can swim about but still surfacing belly up. Not good :(

 

Aah, all becomes clear now. With you face in the bush up close the flowers would have looked like bananas

 

Me too Snorks, I'm in the doghouse for using old(ish) bed sheets to cover the camellia as I ran out of fleece and panicked

 

Don't let Snork see that

 

Although the picture is straight on the wall, could it be that the house leans a little to the left?

 

I think I will have to my friend, forget Storm Emma.. I've got another far worse one coming my way Maybe I'll reclaim the garden as the 'man cave' & pitch tent with said sheets

 

Now the snow has gone I can start slotting my aconite pots into various places around the garden.

My neighbour said he would paint both sides of the new fence. He also said he would help get rid of the debris and rubbish in my garden. I hope it’s sooner rather than later. I intend to grow climbers up the fence in two separate places so I need to get my trellising in place ASAP.

That is exceedingly generous of him! Try to be patient and not rush him; your climbers won't suffer from waiting but you don't want to risk upsetting what is clearly a very generous person.
