Haven't done much, apart from clearing the snow in the back garden, to get to the bird table to feed them.
Hubby managed to get to the supermarkets. But the car parks were difficult to get round, because of the snow. But at least he got the bread for dinner.

I've been extremely busy, I've been monitoring my new 500GB external hard drive, which has been downloading all the content I've saved on my Humax HDR for the last 24 hrs and has not finished yet. Thirty-three quid well spent.

This is in case the HDR crashes, so all my favourite films, documentaries, music videos and sports coverage will be saved. The only problem is that the HD programmes will be encrypted, so won't play through the USB slot on the TV. They'll only play on a similar HDR.
But there's not too many of those and I can make substitutes over time for some. The film Moonrise Kingdom I recorded a while back on an HD channel, this week is being repeated on an SD channel so I can swop the recordings over.

I'm a bit belt and braces when it comes to "stuff."

I've a spare second hand 1980s Leak 2000 tuner/amp in case the one I'm using ever goes U/S, every sort of fuse imaginable for my jukeboxes and no end of replacement batteries and lightbulbs.

Just ordered the final pieces of timber for the front fence. The guy taking the order called me a 'young man' - I was quite pleased  - he must then have been in his 80's :blue thumb:

Hubby just replaced the 1 of 2 on and off switches and the reset switch on my dyson vaccum. He followed a video on utube to find out how to do it, and it worked.

Does anyone know why it needs a reset switch?

I've been working on the renewal of the house, contents and cars insurances. Got them down from their renewal quotes by approx. 15%. :blue thumb:

Dunno about a Dyson, but many appliances have a "trip switch," which turns off the current when something gets jammed which might cause a motor to overheat.
