Advice please old native hedge and mature Ivy

Somebody told me that chickens like to eat vine weevils mixed blessings!!

 

I had chickens before. The naughtiest one was an ex batt called "Stunt Hen" as she was always the first to try everything such as the assault coarse and chicken swing. One year stunt hen broke into my green house through the vent and pecked ALL of the tomatoes... Stunt hen went to chicken heaven about a year ago but she's fondly remembered as I have weed like tomato plants springing up everywhere in my garden. The hedge obviously managed to keep one naughty hen in....

 

Not as bad as Mr Clucky; the hens liked him, loved him even, but he was a terror to my small children (a long time ago). Youngest son has the scars to prove it. He became chicken soup.
