Took lots of pics of the birds in the garden today but most of them out of focus as I was taking them through the window. I liked this one though, we don't often get starlings but lately we've had a little group of 6 or 7 that seem to be enjoying the fat balls we are feeding them. image.jpeg

This looks like the one we have. It gets put out in all weather including the recent snow and heavy rainfall doesn't seem to suffer any ill effect.

I have 50 Starlings who have taken up permanent residence in my garden. Would you like some :snorky: :lunapic 130165696578242 5:. There were just 6-7 to begin with 5 years ago. They are very noisy, argumentative, eat an astonishing amount of food and make the most horrendous mess everywhere, but they are in quite serious decline so I feel obligated to support them. On the plus side Starlings are quite intelligent and brilliant mimics. And when they are not shouting at each other and everyone else they actually have pleasant voices.

We've had Fieldfares and Redwings in our garden for the first time this year when the snow was on the ground. One of the Fieldfares was quite tame and would come within a couple of feet of me when I had food. They have gone now

Nice attitude towards the Mice Martin:). We have them here too. There is at least one in the caravan raiding the :hhog: food. The caravan is old and dilapidated and needs replacing so I don't mind them getting in for a snack.

Had a quick look around the churchyard again for the Hawfinches (as it is next to Sainsburys where I was shopping), one showed up briefly again in the same Birch tree but was even further back.
