As they say, each to their own, I thought George Martin was the most talented Beatle.
I bought my wife a copy of "Please, Please, Me," when it was released as I thought she might like it, but it's never been played.
I've no Beatles, Rolling Stones or Cliff Richard in my jukeboxes and only two by Elvis Presley.

In my opinion, the best singer in the Stones, was Lisa Fischer..in her heyday, the nineties.

 

Maybe we could go for something a bit .... further back?

 

Do you mean back...stage? I might know someone that could do that.

 

Oh ye of little taste Captain Kirks take on Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds is the stuff of legend!

And there was me thinking that I was the only person who appreciated her. I quite like that.

I'm not a big fan of the Stones either. I know that I've posted this before but I love this version of Gimme Shelter by the massively underrated Ruth Copeland...............

I like this from the legendary 1958 Newport Jazz Festival.

She professed later to remembering very little about this performance as she was high on drugs (probably heroin) at the time. Despite her long term addiction to drugs, she was an extremely capable and professional singer.

But every jazz lover can remember that hat.
