Well, their statement fits with my records :blue thumb: and they go back at least five years :heehee:. My solar panels have produced much more power this February than the previous five - but that's what you can expect in Shineyland. :snorky: The last two days has been knocking out 10kWh per day - a phenomenal amount for winter.

Rain is forecast for today. A toasty 41F at 6.30 this morning - no rain yet.

        Snow's melting," said Pooh.

        "Yes," said Piglet.

"We've still got a lot of our Snow Supplies left though," said Pooh, surveying the four remaining bottles of red wine, and family sized bags of chocolate buttons, and chips with dips, and one large stuffed crust pepperoni pizza. "I suppose," said Pooh with a sigh, "we should save them until the next time it snows."

"Well," said Piglet thoughtfully. "We could do that. I, however, have always found that really one of the very best times to use up any surplus Snow Supplies, is on the Sunday evening of the Great Thaw while sitting on the sofa with your very best friend in all the world."

Pooh looked at Piglet, and Piglet looked at Pooh.

"I love you Piglet," said Pooh. "Chip with dip? And a very large glass of Merlot?"

        "Marvellous," said Piglet

I wish! That must be for England only?

Taken at dusk with the fog rolling back in. One of the many weather guises up here at the moment. This morning greeted us with three inches of snow and freezing fog while the sun was shining. :doh:The sun stayed with us for most of the day and the temperature rose to 5C/41F.

I've given up on Spring, roll on summer!

Might have been for England, but it sounded a bit of fiction as far as I'm concerned also.

Dont give up on Spring, it hasn't started yet, 21st of the month is the first day.
Dont take any notice of the twats that do the forecasts with their first of March rubbish.

Remember we can still get snow showers in April, even down here it is not unheard of.[/QUOTE]

Thanks @pete for being optimistic. :) I've been told that this winter has been an exception to the rule here and I must admit last winter was mild but wet. I'm also living roughly 500ft above sea level so should expect more frost I suppose. My nearest town is at a lower level 3 miles away and that was completely clear, also the drive into Inverness today 18 miles distant.

Keep your chin up @Sheal. It will get better I promise:).
Things here have improved dramatically with plenty of sun today and big snow melt taking place, thank the lord.
I have lived in Scotland for just over 40 years and this winter has certainly been in the top 5 of sh1tty ones! Agree with Pete, we are still pretty much in winter. My late father used to reckon we could be anything up to 6 weeks behind the south of England weather wise and consequently what is going on in the garden. However, by June we catch up because of the longer growing days.

Thanks Silu. :) I realise that Spring is going to be much later here. It's just unfortunate that I've been in my new place five months and four of those has been endless winter. I just long to get outside and start work on the gardens but it's not been possible.

Thanks Gail. :) I know it will get better but I have various relatives visiting throughout April and May so not much will be done then either.

Okay whinge over, sorry folks! :) I've not had a good day today including going sprawling over a rucked up mat inside the door at Wickes. Should have stayed in bed!
