I've had this variety for years, put a small plant in the cold frame to overwinter a few years ago and it rooted through the bottom of the pot.
Just left it alone since then, rarely if ever give it any water.

I tend to think that Echeveria can grow out of character if given too much water or feed, in a similar way to sempervivum.

@pete Isn't yours the E Perle Von Nurnberg? Mine takes all kinds of abuse and neglect outdoors. T'other half brought me home one painted red from Aldi for the holidays! :rolleyespink: May as well spruce it up and sprinkle some glitter on it.

I dont know what variety it is, you may well be right, it's pretty common I think.
I also have it outside in a micro climate area.

As an ignoramus with regard to Echeverias I can't tell the difference between them and other succulents. We have lots of them in the greenhouse and in the garden. I've just grabbed a few shots.

We also have quite a few cacti. Some of these have been in the greenhouse (unheated) for 40+ years.

            Nice collection @shiney.
Or should I say Mrs Shiney maybe

Really like that large mottled leaf rosette with the dead flower spikes in pic 2:smile:

A good time of year for succulents. They tend to get ignored when everything else is flourishing. No flowers on any mine but I think the second image has the beginnings of a flower bud.
I'm making a succulent tapestry is a large shallow pot saucer. I keep them in my unheated greenhouse so they don't get wet.

There are quite a few that are winter/spring blooming. I have a couple that are budding up at the moment.

                    Definitely. :blue thumb:

The only pot plants that I get involved in are the chillies. She handles all the others.

I bought a couple from Lidl today at £2.49 each. They're in 9cm pots and are a good size.
This first one is E.setosa I think and has three offsets waiting to be potted up separately in spring..........

The second is possibly Pearl von Nurnberg.................

Not a good show as I've kept it indoors over the winter because I've found it to be rather tender.

Just placed an order for some succulents to add to the few I already have. A couple of nurseries locally too supply them.
I am enjoying this thread :)
