Today I potted up a dahlia 'orange nugget' . I've only ever grown dahlias from seed so after a bit of research I gave it a soak, planted it and now it's in my dining room to get pampered for a while :fingers crossed: I hope I've done it right but having only cost £1.50 I won't lose sleep about it:snorky:

No gardening today but for moving some very wet bags of compost, I left them out over winter now they weigh a ton and the compost is like sludge, think I use them last and for plant perennials in the garden.

Finished potting up the rest of the dahlia's yesterday. Nearly every single tuber bar one was in pristine condition, best I've ever stored them. I planted them in the tomato border inside the GH last autumn, will be doing the same again this year :) . Just mange to squeeze David howard into its pot, its going to be a beast this year.

Pricked out and potted on the busy lizzie seedling as well.

Looks like my raspberry and strawberry plants are going to be late, they have been unable to lift them due to the weather. More cold weather and snow again this weekend will spring ever arrive  . Thinking about plant orders I haven't received my order from peter nyssen yet, I may of order more dahlia's :snorky:.

Some whitefly in the greenhouse . Picking them off by hand at the moment as the seedlings are too young to take a hose to them.

If the sun burns off enough of the frost to dry the grass, I'm hoping to be able to get the mower started and do a bit of mowing.

Sharpened the mower blade over the weekend . So later this morning , the first cut of the year on the back lawn . Fit a few new fence caps and wire supports for my new clematis . That will do for one day .

Sunny and windy here. Been out and tidied up some dead stuff into the brown bin.

Found a huge pile of frog spawn in the pond-yay....more frogs = less slugs!

I did the first grass cut of the year. I was amazed to get 4 grass boxes off, although there were lots of leaves, but it looks good!

I pricked out some statice, sowed some morning glory and more statice ( poor germination) then checked all the pots on the window ledges for water :phew:, there's quite a few :snorky: . I was going to plant out my over wintered, from seed, perennials but then I heard the forecast for the weekend :frown: I think I'll hang on :snorky:

Very warm and sunny. Took advantage by doing some more painting.
Busy elsewhere today but garden matters best left until after the weekend. Another easterly blast for a couple of days but then milder on Monday so it is but a minor hiccup on our way to spring :).
