Once chased and caught an intruder in my pyjamas. (he wasnt wearing my pj's by the way:snorky:) The satisfaction vastly overwhelmed any possible embarrassment. So, not a mistake cos he would have gotten away and, yes, I would do it again:lunapic 130165696578242 5:

That's easy to overcome, all you need to do every year is buy more and more propagators and growlights to cope with the early seedlings, then buy more and more greenhouses, polytunnels, etc. to move them to, plus keep buying more and more heaters, etc., etc.

That's what I've learnt from sowing stuff too early.

Agree ,especially as it's @Scrungee who never seems to pay more than 1/2p for anything:)

True, but then I'd simply join a shopping forum and not a gardening forum. Growing your own stuff ain't easy.

Then there's the cost of the greenhouses, polytunnels, propagators etc. They must cost at least 50p each :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

I paid 7p/Kg for this reduced to clear frozen Sweetcorn and 17p/Kg for this reduced to clear frozen fish

As I've also got approx. £100's worth of Princes Macky fillets for nothing (and previously £100's worth of their Tuna and Peaches), so I guess it all averages out at 0.5p each.

I had a lovely hypericum in the front garden. It died off in the really harsh winter of 2010(?). So I replaced it with..... exactly the same again. Got it to about 4 feet tall and it has just died after this winter. However, I don't think 'third time lucky' is going to work in this situation, so I will be looking to find an alternative solution.

Yep......ruined another pair of trousers today. Gloss paint splashes on jeans not a good combination. What I intended to be a careful incident free 20 minute job turned into a lot more than that. Even my local postie tut tutted my behaviour!! I now have several painting trousers :noidea:

Using tap water for venus fly traps- even though I've killed a few with it over the years it's like I have a block and just think "a little bit wont hurt it". It does, every time.
