I'm going through a collection of vintage recordings by "girl groups" on a USA music board, which I pull up now and again.

Here's a "one hit wonder" by two British girls who formed a duo named after a Renault car made in the late fifties and early sixties, or a French plane if you prefer.

I'm sure someone will remember them.

Here's someone "clean cut" from the sixties.



Something less saccharine, but I do like both.

This one's better known as a backing singer of the era.

I've got both in one of my jukeboxes, "but this one you have to play loud."



Jan Bradley gave up singing in the seventies and became a social worker, I don't know why I find that amusing.

I'm quite partial to a bit of jazz funk/fusion. This is Jeff Lorber, piano/ organ. It's from a CD tribute to Steely Dan I have, another old pop group I like.



So many instruments can mimic the old Fender Rhodes sound.

I love this.

I've the original by James and Bobby Purify in one of my jukebox.

But I like this version by the composers.



How can you not like a good looking singer who can play jazz on "any saxophone you like?"

Same tune with an alto solo from the top of a building in Barcelona from where she comes, with a view of Gaudí's Sagrada Família behind.
