      The Repair Shop.

Wasn't impressed with tonight's selections, a chair, a National Cash Register and a small wind up gramophone.
It amused me that the owner's father had originally hung onto the cash register, "in case decimalisation didn't last".

Jay's lost his ball point pen, but the brush is still in the top pocket of his overall. He was just as superfluous as ever.

I watched the news - just as depressing as usual, even if it's informative. :noidea:

So I followed that with Eight Out Of Ten Cat's Does Countdown - brought a smile to my face :)

          Here is the weather forecast.

It always amused me that the exaggerated hand movements of Sian Lloyd, when she presented the weather, reminded me of her.

I can't say I actually liked anything she sang.
So pretentious, but a lot of people thought she was great.

If you have BBC iPlayer I can thoroughly recommend the documentary Ingrid Bergman - In Her Own Words.
Made using the home movies that she made for most of her life, the diaries that she kept, private letters and interviews with those who were close to her, it all came together to make a compelling documentary. It knocks all the modern reality shows about hospitals, rozzers and helicopter into the weeds - this is what TV should be about!

I remember watching not that long ago a BBC interview with her, "recorded in the days of black and white." She impressed me as she had no airs and graces, as have many contemporary so called stars.

As a fan of "film Noir," I've watched her in "Casablanca," many times.

Dooley Wilson is singing, but he couldn't play the piano, it was Elliott Carpenter. He was actually playing it, just off-screen whilst this sequence was being shot. But Dooley was a drummer.
