Yesterday chopping a three piece sofa up and taking it to the tip, today chopping PVC windows up and trips to the tip,

I am about to start work on this eyesore now the trees nearly gone its created a nice space but unsure what to do with it  shed ? seating area ? lawn and border but it gets very little sun a little bit as the sun goes down ?,

Get it cleared first and fence sorted and have another look at it :).

      Gate Post 1 March 18.jpg

This afternoon I made a start removing the first of the obsolete gate post. Whoever fitted it obviously had no intention of it ever coming out again. It was buried deep. There was also what seemed to be half a house worth of brick and concrete burried under there. I managed to dig it all out eventually. The little bits and pieces I left in there. The rubbish that came out I intend to break up further and keep it to use as drainage for pots etc.

Thanks @shiney , I've just finished clearing all the dead foliage so I'll rest on my laurels while waiting for it to burst into life again. I wear gloves when working with this sort of thing having learnt from mistakes in the past. I'm aware of the issue with the spores so will be following the 'rules' of dealing with it when the time comes.

Martin i'd say a seating area if you don't get to much sun there and preparing it nicely like the rest of your garden...it would be like a nice cool place to relax out of to much extreme heat when it comes [IMG]

Extreme heat :heehee: when it does finally want to show it self

It's great plant and I don't think it deserves the title of an invasive non-native plant:dunno: If it has got out of hand somewhere then that is the land owners fault. It certainly doesn't threaten any other plants or is dangerous to Humans or animals:snorky:

I don't think so...it's sitting beauty on it's on :wub2: and like you stated if it as got out of hand it's because it's not been looked after right...or where it's actually been put

Spent a sunnyish afternoon in the pond. Removed my bullrush as it was in the wrong spot and was starting to look threatening :hate-shocked:
Kept a few bits of it but looks like i will have to dump a great big lump of it,what a waste:yikes:.

Divided up and fed a few waterlillies and repositioned them to sunnier spots. Cleared the fountain filter and finally got the net sorted so the local pterodactyl doesnt get my fish :runforhills:...

The other gate post wasn't concreted in. It came out just like that.

One stump out. 2 more to go.

Interestingly, the one I came away with from your patch has be beautiful and prolific. Not a blemish on it (or its babies) :dunno:

:loll: Do you need a plumber? ;)

Nice one! Have you saved some seed so you can cast some more in a couple of weeks time; then a couple of weeks later and then a further sowing a couple of weeks after that? It's a way of prolonging your flowering season; as well as making up for any failed seed due to inclement weather.

Not today but yesterday I potted up some of the plants which I'd purchased from el cheapo shops in the past month or so. All are staying indoors, for now, until ready to be taken to the grow house. Glad I kept them indoors too because I awoke to a hard frost this morning! Took me a goodly while to scrape and warm up the car this morning, so goodness knows what it would have done to my newly potted plants!

Just the small matter of 120 pots and a gravel tray filled with begonias. Between them, the pansies, the nasturtiums and nemophilas, I think I'm done with propagating for a while.
