          The novelty’s wearing of a bit now ,I know rain is essential but enough is enough.
          And there is more to come........Monday’s very wet and cold apparently.

            We had much needed rain this morning - if you can call it that. One short, light shower wasn't enough to make the ground surface wet. :doh:Since then nothing but heavy cloud. After yesterday's brief high of 15C/59F the temperature has plummeted to 4C/39F today.

            Snow is promised here on Monday but I'm not sure if that will happen.

                    Back in the old days (when I was a lad :old: :heehee:) when people used to keep the livestock in their house they used to have the ground floor for the cows, goats and chickens and the first floor (the only other floor they had) for the family. Cats and dogs tended to climb up into the rafters under the straw roofs (in the days before they made proper thatch).

                    When there was a really heavy storm the straw roof wasn't able to keep the weather out and parts of it usually came down into the room - bringing the cats and dogs with it. Hence: raining cats and dogs.
