You've lost me:doh:, I have Bog Bean and it's not a huge plant, just a spreader:dunno:. If the stem is too "big" cut it half leaving some leaves on it.:snorky:

I think luci is talking about rhizomes A as you say cut it of or as i say put a hole in the basket its going in and thread it through or just let it hang out over the top.

I thought so too, Martin, which I why I said Lucius had lost me:doh::scratch:. I did say earlier that dividing the rhizomes was the way to go as they will all put up growth

but her remarks about it just being a single curly stem, not a clump of rhizomes is confusing.:dunno::rolleyespink::scratch::doh:

And its not a clump, just a long single stem with long, feathery root thingys sprouting off it :) :snorky:. I've never seen anything like it before, it looks quite alien  :snorky:. Not to worry anyway, I'm sure I'll work it out. It's got a 50/50 chance to grow or not. Weather's better tomorrow so I'll take a pic before I put it in the pond.

And, there's nothing on the instructions about how to actually plant it, just says 30cm planting depth or very wet ground, sun or partial shade. Which is why I asked you guys :dunno::lunapic 130165696578242 5:

Okay, then what you have is a single long rhizome like so...
If you look at the long stem you should see some small swellings where the Bog Bean will throw out shoots and you can cut that stem into at least 3 parts while keeping the

Does that make sense to you, lucius.??:dunno::heehee:

So, Bog Bean has been cut in half and planted in pond. Don't know what to do with the other half, nowhere to put it and don't want to waste it or give it away as expensive. I mentioned this to hubby this evening, who immediately suggested another bog garden or another pond. I suggested a water barrel feature.

I have discovered blanket weed in my new pond. It was doing really well, the water was clear, the plants were growing and during the recent hot weather I kept it shaded. I have had to use tap water to top the level up as no clean rain water left. I think this coupled with the water warming up might be the cause. I cannot cram any more plants into the pond. Is there anything I can do to get rid of it ? There is a lot of it, clogging all the other plants.
