Greenhouse cleared out and re-filled! Tomatoes potted on along with onions, more cauli's and cabbages sown, beautiful warm spring day here but ground still too wet to dig over. Carol's done some stuff too :rasp:

Its not a issue digging down to the roots and cutting them off, its a big old stump and would need a good fire to burn it, ive removed lots of trees from this garden and found privet to be the worst of all at least i can get the spade in with this big stump.

Weather forecast looking good, dry with cloud. So out to change the lagging on the outside tap, degraded by light. Then out with the secateurs to tidy up a variety of shrubs looking the worse for wear after the winter, cut back to a strongly shooting bud. Then weeding and more weeding remembering to go carefully where I have bulbs, corms and tubers starting to shoot.

This winter I have noticed leaf burning on lots of my shrubs , worse than usual . Presume the best thing is to cut back damage as Nigel states.

Pond is looking great there @luciusmaximus

Just been out to look at my little pond and 1000's of tadpoles! He he. We didnt have any last year so v pleased with that.

Started feeding the fish and they were ready for it. I can't believe how big some have the younger ones have got over winter! Theyre huge-definitely a mix of two koi-not the little goldfish.

It's drizzly wet but mild here. Wandered around outside in my dressing gown whilst the drizzle stopped and the garden is so peaceful. Lovely seeing all the plants sprouting up and growing. :) nice to know they survived the winter.

Dug up my climbing rose from the big pot yesterday as it wasn't doing well-found the culprit-more damn vine weevils. Cleared out the pot and planted in the clematis in its place with fresh compost. Going to treat for vine weevils and then try find somewhere else for the rose to go.

@Snorky85 lovely that you have Tadpoles :wub2:. Are they in your fish pond ? You mentioned putting in a small wildlife pond but I assume you haven't done that yet ??

Glad that you are enjoying the peacefulness of your garden and that your migraine is gone :).

@luciusmaximus this is the small pond that had the train track and toy water mill in it previously. lol. No fish in this one luckily. This small one will be removed and replaced once the landscaping and new building works are done at the end of the summer - it's just in the wrong place.

As the weather is poop today for gardening I'm going to make rhubarb and ginger jam from last summers frozen rhubarb. And look for some root trainers online to start growing some of my Sarah Raven cut flower seeds he he.
