It been a lovely sunny day  had a frost this morning but soon warmed up. Not really done much but for retrieving the secateurs / little fork I left out over night, went over the lawn with a rake again after over seeding. And trimmed a little spirea and had browse in the GH. I think I've lost a delephinium and both agastache black adders, the ensete maurii not looking so good either :cry3: I thought the lobelia tupa would of been seen of by the cold but it looks like it the slugs trying now.
Oh I got some gladioli in a bag somewhere, another job to the list.

I think, as far as I can tell, Perki, that the only plants I have lost are two French Lavenders that are in pots and I put in the Green House to overwinter. I think the long period of sub zero temperatures that we had some time ago was too much for them so, I guess, that I've be on the lookout for some more. The Herbs in pots that were left outside have mostly survived but the Rosemary had to have a lot of blackened stems pruned out of it otherwise I think I've got away without too many losses.

I kept remembering that I had the Gladioli to plant, KFF, but then I kept forgetting again!! I must admit that it felt good to have finally planted them. The garden is now basically running itself now that the borders are clear of debris, dead stems, etc, so all the bulbs and hardy perennials are doing their own thing. I will have to tidy up the 60 or so Clematis on the sides of the Trellis garden entrance and persuade them to go in the right directions.:snorky:

@ARMANDII They are vulnerable compared to the English lavenders. I've seen a lot of damage recently full hedge of Portuguese laurel all brown and cherry laurel with brown leaves plus many more plants. I think I've lost the delphinium due to the ground being to wet this winter, I do have another in a pot which I potted on yesterday. The cold / wet probably got the agastache, I am still hopeful they will pull through though. I have lost a lupin my castle as well but not so bothered about that, it had a paddy last year after moving it so was excepting it to go. I can move the rudbeckia further to the back of the border and buy another plant instead. tempted to try a persicaria with the aster monch - Rudbeckia :)

Beautiful day again today :). Tipped two bags of bark chips onto the larger mound and added a few primroses. Cleared away some of the rubbish from the pond area. Stuck in some newly purchased solar lights. Took some pics and had a peer into the pond. Might be my imagination but it seemed less green and scummy.

Finished planting up new back garden border. Stuck more plants into the baths.

Sat on patio with coffee, cake and lots of little birdies to keep us company. :)

Ended up clearing out the front shed yesterday-can actually get in there now-so much better. Had a trip to the tip and they weren't recycling plastics!!!! Fuming!!

Anyway, plan to prick out some seedlings today and might even clear out the greenhouse!

Fish are happy they're now getting fed :)

                      Rain today....
Not much but a bit of a change plus it will water in some of the feed I gave to various plants yesterday. Its still warm and Im pleased to have done so much in the garden yesterday. :) Here in the far west its supposed to be sunny again later.

Some may be aware of my passion for donuts so I have sown some seed......donuts germinate fast apparently and should be ready in a couple of weeks. Cant wait! :snorky:

Other duties today anyway incl first walk for Nico, 10 week old golden retriever. :)

Snorky, are you saying you doubt my integrity? It's how the indigenous americans first cultivated them and I want to do the same. I think you need a fry-able loam though:)

Well, cleared out the greenhouse finally. Trip to the tip tomorrow.
Cleared weeds from the borders around the trees and added some fresh compost and scattered loads of poppy seeds - hopefully something will sprout!

Sun has finally come out...17:40! lol
