It's many years since I last drank coffee but I always found Kenco good and still is apparently. It's slightly milder than Nescafe's products.

We have some camp coffee. We buy Sainsbury coffee. It's the only budget brand we like. We but it a big tin.

Take another bow @shiney, hell that's 2 in 1 day:). I have just had my 1st cup of Sainsbury's Gold Roast. I don't think I like just quite as much as the original Nescafe Gold Blend but it is vastly better than the new Nescafe creation and I will continue to buy it. At £3.15 for a 200g jar I see what you mean about price difference. Gold Blend is about £7 odds these days. With the saving on the cost of the coffee I'll treat myself more often to double cream to have with it. I'm not a sweetie /chocolate lover but oh boy do I like cream and cheese, those are my "guilty" pleasures.:)

@silu have you tried Soya cream? It's just like pouring cream but dairy free. :blue thumb:

I have a cup of black Nescafé, (no sugar) "first thing in the morning." That's either 7.30a.m. when I'm going to golf three times a week (weather permitting) or 9.30 a.m. on other days.

Then at 11.00a.m. I make us cappuccinos (or when I get in from golf).
I buy Taylors Italian blend beans from Sainsbury's when they're on promotion, usually six packs at a time. One pack lasts us a week and I only grind enough for two cups in our Dualite burr grinder. (Yes, it's an obsession).

We had one of these for ten years, but it was unreliable considering how little use it got. It was all cast steel and weighed 28lb. It was replaced once under guarantee and needed repairing three other times. The advantage is that it has two boilers so you can make coffee and froth milk at the same time if you're catering for more than a couple of people.

                        KES2102ER.jpg

The final straw was last year when it went wrong again and they quoted me £130 for a repair. So I said enough is enough and binned it.

We've now got one of these. It has a plastic body. Half the price and makes a better cup of coffee.

                        hrsqfl.jpg

You get a better "crema" with it.

                        P1010076.JPG

We use Cadbury's drinking chocolate powder as "sprinkles."

                        P1010077.JPG

It's all "singing and dancing," whereas the Kitchenaid was either "on or off."

                        Now for a moan.

I wish they'd stop moving TV channels about. I set my Humax to record DCI Banks tonight , but it didn't as they've moved ITV3. I did did get a notification on my TV a few days ago to say "New Channels Added," which is no bother to reprogramme. But it's usually something obscure that I wouldn't watch anyway. So I didn't bother with the Humax as you lose all your planned recordings. You have to photograph the programme schedule. Reinstall the Humax then painstakingly copy the list on your camera to the Humax. Finding each and every programme you had planned.

@Doghouse Riley, I gave up coffee and tea as you know. I also gave up my television eight years ago, the best thing I've ever done! :)

I rarely actually sit and watch a television program. I putter and listen and pause to look if something sounds interesting. Even my beloved Corrie street, I'm usually on the move and listening. Guess I treat it like the old radio programs :)

Now you've got me thinking about the goon show :rolleyespink:

Nigel have to agree with you. My GP practice once had just two partners (Drs) Then the practice changed hands so many times.
I very seldom see my GP. When we do meet, we spend time talking science. I often receive a reminder to go for BP check. I have my own BP meter, If I am really ill and need to see a hospital consultant, then I'll have a chat with the GP.
I often wonder just who these receptionist are. To confide in them? Be fair. You are asking for an appointment to see and talk to your GP. B/Hell the receptionist will soon be dishing out the prescriptions.

My local practice now has 5/6 GPs. Things havent improved. Because each GP have bought along their own patients. Then there are emergency appointments. Scuse me. Even I cannot foresee when my emergency will arrive. My daughter who sadly is always an emergency, was recently told by the receptionist. 99/100 who get an emergency appointment fail to turn up. FINE them.

Ah! the Goon Show! I am not a fan fanatic. But the goon show. Best on radio, let your imagination get to work. Fantastic.
