Thanks Verdun, yes i should be able to tip it towards the grass then roll it out if the way it will need two men though its a big heavy lump,

I am going to put another pond in this area probably introduce a alpine area around it,

Following on along from this area its very much the same with rubble so i will continue to clear it, most of my garden is quite tidy and its a mess here, i will keep updating as more work is done,

There is another stump a little larger than this one but it might be able to stay and make a compost heap at the side of it, i will see when i get to this stage.

 

You could make a table out of it or Mrs F could use it as an outside ironing board

yay!!! We've got a lovely toady too! Glad your pond is coming along nicely. I must say-since I've taken the pump out of our "nature pond" and just left it alone to do its own thing, it has been lovely and clear. Sooooo many tadpoles-praying for lots of froggies

 

No sign of Toad in the Hole today . Not where we found her but could ( hopefully ) be somewhere else in garden. Decided to enlarge the log pile by the pond as had some Buddleia branches to use up.

Added more compost to the smaller mound by the pond and planted 3 Eryringiums ' Miss Marbel', a Blue Centaura and a pink/purple grass, can't remember its name - but I bet Verdun could . Still got a gap to fill. Thinking of more grasses. Maybe something greenish.

Finished bark chipping my new back garden border. Wandered around aimlessly trying to decide what to do next and ended up doing nothing. I did sit on an unopened bag of bark chips beside the pond and think about it though

 

The sun finally came out today. I had a couple of hours free this afternoon so I took he opportunity to paint the shed. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do about the bottom bits. Do I dig back the dirt around the base?

It might need a second coat. I'll see how if looks when it's dry. I'm only interested in the end for now.

Tried to make the most of the weather today.

The two new flower beds have been joined, lined, filled with around 720 litres of multi-purpose followed by a layer of top soil and finally a layer of Smart Ground Cover to match the current flower bed.

Running on fumes, so hoping a well earned takeaway can top me up in time to give everything a good dose of Phostrogen before the sun sets.

 

If you could dig round it, you might think about raising it up off the ground by putting in some 4" X 2" beams or whatever, under the floor sat on some piers of a brick or two.

I built a shed out of reclaimed 3"X 2" and roofing ply, for our daughter's expanding collection of hutches for rabbits and guinea pigs and did exactly that.

This was it last year, no rot. I'd just put some beading I had spare, around the bottom of the roofing ply wall and door.

Our daughter was seven when I made it, she'll be fifty this year. We still call it "The Rabbit Shed," but it hasn't seen rabbits for the best part of four decades.

It gets a coat of Dulux Mahogany Woodsheen, every few years, including that one.

The bricks and rocks are just to stop foxes or anything else getting under there. They don't support the building.

 

Well yesterday I was v busy in the garden. I did a mini-turn on the three compost bays, as the "adding" bay was overflowing. I couldn't empty a bay, but did half-n-half layering. I also deadheaded the daffodils, capped oeof the "dog-do" holes with sand/soil (I know, but I'd rather deal with it on-site than have it go into landfill).
The two English roses were pruned, and now can withstand the summer weather well. The drive was weeded on one side, and the pink bed was weeded - amazing how the birds have "planted" so many new saxifrage plants dotted through the bed.

Today has been much quieter. I've taken down an unknown "scrub" tree that was blocking the view from the patio. Our lemon tree was moved outside. I know that Monty says it's far too early, but ours sits over a heating vent, and struggles with the spring, with scale insects taking a strong hold, and honeydew everywhere. Some lovely storm rain has washed it clean tonight. Tomorrow it will be given its first neem oil treatment of the season....

 

Put the battered blowaway back up for a laugh. Its now held together with glue,zip ties and duck tape.

Planted up some the garlic thats been growing in the roottrainers. Moved 3 compost bins into a sunnier spot as the results have been poor so far. I think ive preserved the contents rather than turn it into compost,not happy.

Picked a couple handfuls of Sycamore seedlings out of my pots. That leaves about half a million in the beds,pond,lawn,roof,guttering,garage roof,..........:rage:

 

Started hand weeding the my main border.

Potted up some chilli sizzle seedlings and more marigolds.

Dropped a pot containing an euonymus harlequin only then to find it was actually four plants in one pot. So potted them up individually.

Bought an euonymus blondy in Wilko for £3 and bought some more clay pots from Poundland.

 

Tried to get it out of the hole today chance two of us could hardly move it , popped to see another pal who owns a chain saw said he would call tomorrow and cut it up into manageable bits and take it away his dad has a log burner ,

Loaded more rubble into the skip and got another fire on the go burning conifers ive chopped out.
