It looks ok to me. And, in any case, if you like it then it doesn't matter what others think. It's your garden :).

You don't get a green wheelie bin with your other recycling bins ???. I thought everyone had one or an alternative such as large green bags, which we had down south. We have a green wheelie here and a extra brown wheelie can be hired at a cost of £70 per year. The brown bin is for garden waste like the green bin.

Martin we have the green bins here mate they're for garden waste, some area's now have to pay if they want then emptying..we don't as yet and they get emptied every 2 weeks with the black bin and the brown bin gets emptied every week.

You should have one really...then they give you the option if your area have to pay, if you want to pay for it to be emptied...if not then it's the skip for you :)

@Gail_68 I didn't know about the charge for emptying the green bins. I'm surprised at that. Don't pay here only for the brown wheelie if it's wanted. Our black bin is 3 weekly collection.

They won't let you put dirt in them...just branches etc and those are to a certain height and thickness :snorky:
Yes certain area's have brought out charges...now we don't pay for the brown or the black recycling bin either or the green...they did give us a small bucket in green for food wastage :nonofinger:dirty way..i put it to better usage down the garden for putting cutting in :snorky:

Trafford collect non-recyclable waste every other week. The bin is half the size of the others, so I have to compress the contents by standing on them at the end of the first week. Or I'd have to take the second week's to the tip. We use plastic bags for the waste so it's not a messy job.
Glass, metal and plastic is collected every four weeks, as is paper and cardboard. Garden waste is collected weekly fifty-two weeks a year, for which we pay £35. Anything surplus in the garden goes in it. This week there was some bits of wood including the old bases of the troughs I renovated. Any dead or unwanted plant including the root ball goes in. Like two big hebes. I just covered them with other stuff I'd pruned.

We're supposed to put food waste in the green bin, but won't. It goes in a poly bag into the non-recyclable bin, whether they like it or not.

It's a bit of a joke as for about four months of the year, we don't even put the green bin out.

To be fair, as the collections are contracted out, there's never a problem. The workers are probably on "time and finish," so they won't want to waste time arguing what should or should not be put in a bin. As long as it's metal, glass, or plastic it goes in that bin. Recently I've put old guttering and a coffee machine in it. I can't be assed to check which plastic containers are or are not recyclable, that's not my job. All the milk cartons go in.

Our council are so behind, wish we had a green bin! We use clear recycling bags for everything..

Having second thoughts on front bed.. might grass it even though it's a nightmare to mow.. uhh!

No idea Lucius it's such a rubbish space :sad:the slope makes it awkward. It's been rubble, then lawn, a wildflower patch, back to lawn then me and the other half tiered it and planted it up 2 years ago.. last year anxiety got the better of me so left it and went up allotment instead.. Rains stopped play today and helping a friend move so I have bit more time to think about it.. what would you do?

@Linz i do know that lawns on the slope can be very awkward...my auntie when alive lived in a lovely bungalow with lovely lawns but the front of the property was sloping lawns and she had used to struggle to cut them :)
