In work, sitting in an office with no natural sunlight, wishing I was retired and in my garden.

Only a slight moan and only because it is stupid.

Advertisement on radio for British Gas:-
It mentions how annoying it can be when you're waiting for a workman to turn up when you could be doing other things - "but our workman call ahead. So you don't have that worry". It continues about how much better it is to know when they are coming.

At the end of the advertisement they say "95% of our workmen call ahead"!!! So if they don't :th scifD36: you must be one of the unfortunate 5% :nonofinger:

If you'll believe that, you'll believe anything! :snorky: I have a really good deal for you. :blue thumb:

If their boilers are that good, why is the British Gas penguin always wrapped up in a coat and scarf?

As for phoning ahead, you'd think they'd invented the wheel. Most engineers and delivery drivers phone ahead, it saves them time.

          My moan.

To finalise the debacle of the Miele fridge, John Lewis increased their offer of compensation to £75, after I'd turned down £50, which I've accepted. They sent me an e-mail to tell me the £75 has been added to my John Lewis account.

In the first place, I'd no idea I'd got more than a John Lewis card.
I've replied to say they must be out of their tiny minds if they think I'm willing to accept what is effectively just a "credit note."

The £75 was to compensate us for just part of the food we had to chuck away and for the inconvenience caused. So they'd better send me a cheque.

          Another moan.

We usually have a Chinese meal delivered on a Thursday or Friday, but I'm going to have to go down to collect it. As they have a problem with their driver, "Himno Comein."

              Err..

If you have a look at my avatar, you'll see that I'm always in "no mood," so the suggestion doesn't appeal to me. It also says "I'm pleasantly unemployed" and I'm happy to stay that way.

I'm also unemployed but my contract rate of £1,000 p.h. might get me back to doing a tiny bit of work. :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

I very much sympathise @Jiffy. We live on a single track road with b all passing places. During the winter/bad weather basically nobody uses it apart form the few who live on it/deliveries etc. The minute the good sunny weather appears...yes we do get it in Scotland occasionally:) we get the boy racer brigade rallying down it on occasions. I worry for my lovely cats who do plouter about on the road a bit despite having acres and acres of fields and woods to use:wallbanging:. There were 1 or 2 "regulars" who I got the registrations of and happened to mention to our community policeman about how dangerously they were driving down our road. The policeman did advise me that the road officially didn't have a speed restriction on it BUT he agreed that it should be driven as fast as the road type dictated ie not flaming 60MPH+++. Much to my surprise I was informed that the officer had duly visited the said individuals and had a word in their shell likes:). Not seen either of them since, result:)

We got a action camera to record our walks when on the road, but just latey we haven't seen any car's and 4x4's (early walk) so haven't been wearing it, i will be of now on :paladin: we are the same with narrow single track road but they drive as no one else is going to be there and as walker's they just don't care, as you say. there only a 60mph speed limit but if they drove at that speed here, well the rude filter will be on over time :snorky: if they hit us it will be careless driving  because as standing on the side of the road is all you have got here not much grass verge, 4 inches of grass, ditch then hedge on both sides, i've been hit by the wing mirror twice and jumped into the ditch a few times

Being the President of The Grumpy Old Men's Club I tend to write letters of complaint (mainly emails now) about anything that I don't think is right.

Last year a problem we had with one of our holidays got us £250 each - after a bit of a struggle. Another holiday, that was good, got a complimentary email from me but I also pointed out how they could enhance the experience for their clients. We received, unexpectedly, a voucher for £50 each for the suggestions.

The other week I complained to Tyrrell's that they had increased the salt content in their 'Lightly Salted' crisps and that I didn't like it. They had increased the salt from .5g per 100g to .8g per 100g. This may not sound a lot but it's an increase of 60% and is very noticeable. They replied that they only did so after market research :th scifD36:. They told me they do a no salt version and I said that there aren't any in our local stores. So they've sent me a case of them :blue thumb:

Wickes have recently altered their compost and it is no longer as good as it should be (discussed on another thread). I've complained to them and the manufacturers (Westland) are coming to see me next week. :)

Absolutely agree @shiney. I am NOT a happy bunny and was intending to moan too. It's nothing like last years as I still have a bag of 2017 stuff which has loads of peat in it. This stuff feel like the left overs from some sort of material processing and neither I nor my plants seem to like it much. Could you please advise who should I be moaning to in the hope of getting a result.?
Like your idea of speed bumps but not sure our council would agree as it is a designated cycle route but think I might try them. Mind you with the potholes post this hellish winter that might slow the "jimmys" down a fair bit. I would report the holes as some are terrible but it does deter people from using our road and we know exactly where they are and can avoid them:)
