Your post reminded me, so I went out again and sprayed all our giant lilies, with Richard Jackson's "stuff." They do get a few holes in them, but not that many. So we'll see how effective it is.

We did buy five new white ones at the end of last year, but the nine we originally had have multiplied and we've now over twenty. Here's a couple from last year.

They're really impressive. As the fence is just over 6ft this one here must be nearly 8ft tall.

I am up potting the tomao plants as they are still indoors with no sign of spring in sight. We had some light snow this morning and it will be below 30 F tonight so no greenhouse yet. Tomorrow I will tackle the peppers. I am getting cabin fever waiting for spring. :gaah:

It was too hot out there to do much in the garden today. I worked a couple of hours on the ShineyFrames before giving up.

Just got back in from the garden at 11.30 p.m. I went out there to pick some rhubarb as I fancied some. Picked a couple of pounds and it's now in the oven after having been made into a large cooked rhubarb topped with a thick layer of sponge. Midnight feast tonight.

Beautiful, beautiful day here yesterday. So happy to have warmth and sunshine. Not too hot to garden but decided that a zero g on the patio was more appealing. I did plant 6 Asters into my large belfast sink in the evening and watered a few pots.

@Verdun the Overdams are quite small, so will have to either buy more or move them and replace with something else. They are currently by the pond. I do have the space for Giagantea. I will have a look at Knoll gardens.

Dont buy more Overdam...in a year they will be much bigger. You will be able to have quite a few clumps in 4 years or so :)
I would prefer to spend my money on something I havent already got!

"My system," doesn't involve doing too much. Our drive is probably no more than 500sq ft. It's 10.00 a.m. and I haven't started yet.

I got the drive jet-washed. This is half of it, the front half is behind me, I'm leaning against my car. The drive is green concrete, not smooth, you can see the aggregate in it so it's never slippery. It was laid before we bought this house, by the first occupant, so it must be nearly fifty years old and still in good condition. Hasn't sunk anywhere.
I've lost count of the number of times someone has knocked on our door asking if we'd like a new drive. Would we 'eck!

I even had time to mow the lawn. I only did it earlier in the week and collected half a grass box full.

I've taken it easy today, as we've yet another scorcher here...

So sorted my small pots, ready to pot up the next tray of chilli plants. Around 200 pots, no more than 5 of the same design! Cleared all the old pots of "may come back again" dead plants, that were lurking under the kitchen window.

Then elevenses on the patio with hubby. Emptied my square planters ready for the yellow pear tomatoes. This involved evicting imperial lilies, and other bulbs. Emptied a couple of messy spring colour pots, that I've tried to jazz up for a couple of years. Needed cleaning out completely, and replanting.

Break to walk the dog, buy some "raw" milk from the local farm, and get a hunk of meat for a BBQ this evening.

Back to unload the car, replant the emptied spring pots with variegated ivy (rescued from pots, when emptying) and pale pink fuschias. Tomato pots filled with compost, in readiness. Spring planters replaced under kitchen window. Sorted small pots re-stacked. Campanulas that we'd evicted from spring planters planted in cleared area under newly cut hedge. Drive swept down....

Lovely shower, changed into summer dress ready for hubby to spoil me with BBQ; sipping glass of chilled Chardonnay, before prepping salad.

...all in all, my sort of day!

Not done much in the garden today except watering. We picked up some rocks for Carols' bog garden and are planning a trip to the "Gardeners Club" tomorrow to stock up on compost and I dare say a few few plants will reach the checkout!
