Yawn yawn, wakey wakey Autumn 2018

Software is not a problem, but hardware is nowadays

Nice and sunny this morning. I've spent an hour and a half removing aphids from the chillies. Washing them out from the flowers and rubbing them off the leaves. A very large infestation. All those trays of plants are now on the patio sunning themselves. Another dozen trays to go!

It must be very loud where you are because we can hear it from here

I've just seen two squirrels and three crows (all Shineyland residents) having quite a squabble over seeds dropped from the feeders. The birds on the feeders are totally ignoring them! This wouldn't have happened when Oscar was around. He didn't like any disharmony in the garden and always walked slowly towards the squabblers. The crows used to fly off and the squrrels jumped onto the bench and watched him.

I'm playing bridge all day and it's the final of the main county tournament. I don't expect to come further down the results than 24th (there are only 24 in the final ).

Whilst my computer is back in hospital I'm using an old laptop but I don't seem to be able to see any video clips on it so can't see what you posted

I also can't post photos until I work out what this computer does with any downloads. The laptop was a gift from a company that had updated its laptops for its reps. It was going to be scrapped, with all the others, but they said I could have it if I was able to make use of it for the charity. It's a tad out of date and runs on Vista (a bit more modern than my other old computer which is a Spectrum ).

I've been working away at this old laptop since 5 a.m. and have now managed to install a photo handling programme (it didn't want to take the first two I tried) and have, finally, got it talk to my printer. It still won't work with Adobe.

Yesterday's bridge was enjoyable but my partner had just flown in from Las Vegas and didn't seem to have a big enough box of matches to keep her eyes open . So we ended up 22nd.

I've also been doing my morning aphid hunting.

Good morning all my friends have a lovely day,I am off to see the nurse this morning at 8.30am and then I shall check all the Rose beds while I am there,I have already pruned them so just a tidy up,and then the rest of the day belongs to yours truly

Aloha everyone,

After meetings all morning, until 2 p.m., I (over)did a lot of gardening until 4.30. Then the gentlemen from Westland turned up (one from Ireland and one from Birmingham) to talk to me about my complaint about the compost. They agreed it wasn't up to the correct standard (I'll post the details later on the right thread) and gave me a load of bags of good compost.
