Think that's going to look really good once it's bedded in a touch :)

They do look good quality! What's the name of the juncus with slightly twisted leaves, to the left of your sink? I've lost the label for mine....

Sorry!!:heehee: I was so relieved, I forgot to be my normal waffling self!!

Hubby came back from the UK on Sunday, but arriving just before midnight, did not discover the pond! He headed off for work in the morning, still half-asleep (unloading the car, and unwinding after an eight-hour drive means less than 5 hours sleep). I'd tactically placed the wheelbarrow on its side on the lawn, so he didn't see it as he reversed up the drive...
So, the big reveal was yesterday evening, when he got home from work. He thinks I'm mad, but is wowed and impressed!!

How wonderful that the wildlife is arriving so quickly :) :). Lucky you :). I have a few fleas, some bloodworms and a snail in my little pond. What I thought may have been a pond skater wasn't. Don't know what I saw ( looked like an elongated fly ) and not seen it since.

They will come, @luciusmaximus , they will come (feel a "Field of Dreams" moment coming on!)
We are very lucky for flying marshlife here - dragonflies regularly buzz the place in the late summer. Of course, this also means lots of mosquitoes...:th scifD36: which is why my wildlife pond will have a few small goldfish in it.... After all, I can't fit full-scale mosquito nets over all the beds - yes guests' beds too - and then have a mozzie dorm in the garden!!
How's your pond settling in? Are the plants growing well yet?

The weather here is still unsettled @Sian in Belgium so everything is a bit behind. Pond water is still quite cold. The plants are growing but slowly. The only one with flowers is the Cuckoo plant. Hopefully the temperature should be rising soon and this will kick start things a bit.
