I was just sayin':dunno::heehee: Lemonade does not mix with Whisky, Tetters, and might have Sugar in in it, so it's better to drink the Whisky, so I'll raise a glass to toast the coming of March 2019

          Me too, @pete, me too....

I'm one of those "horrible migrant workers from the EU" who might get kicked out come Brexit, and be heading back your way!!

You sound a bit bitter, "horrible migrant workers"?
I just dont understand that statement.

Why is it whenever someone wants to control numbers of migrant workers, or immigrants everyone seems to take such an attitude?

I've not heard anyone even come close to banning immigrants or migrant workers, or even call them horrible.

Pete you need to get out more. A sizeable percentage of the leave vote was "migrants are taking our jobs". One of my friends is a joiner . He stopped working ten years ago ( possibly his chisels were blunt ). But he still argues the European migrants are taking our jobs ( that he doesn't actually do ! ) .

Sian , I am pretty sure that common and fair sense will apply to non national workers in the EU , after all the posturing and brinkmanship is completed in the negotiations.

I get out quite a bit @HarryS , and I cant say I've never heard that argument, but from a very small minority.
I as you might know I work in a workshop on a farm, the farm relies on migrant workers at picking time, they, the farmers and family all want out.
They see no problem getting those workers, IF we were to leave, only the media make a noise about it.

Lets face it, the EU freedom of movement is based on getting cheap labour to where it is needed, people moving from countries of lower standards to work in countries where the existing population could not survive on the pay rates.

I could not survive on the money they pay these people, it helps our economy, but does that make it right?

So, not taking our jobs, but possibly lowering our wage rates.

I am sure they will come up with a solution to the migrant workers needed for farming and many other trades , we can't run a country without this . The other major problems customs union / single market / Northern Ireland border , do seem unworkable at the moment. I am not sure anyone , myself included , understands what the heck is going on.

Back in the old days :old: I used to be a cheap labour worker in your county. I used to go hop picking and pea picking. I think @wiseowl worked on the next farm :heehee:
