My wallflower hasn't come out yet and my tulips are past there best.

I think my ajuga bit the dust. I haven't seen hide nor hair of it since I planted it.

I passed by a nursery the other day and their alliums were just bursting out. Mine are nowhere near that stage yet.

@Jack Sparrow mine are a way off flowering too. Not even sure if they will flower. Garden centres tend to force plants on a bit to make them more sellable. I always choose smallest ( so long as healthy ) plant with least amount of flowers or buds when buying. The weather conditions have knocked everything back too. I think you've had bad weather too ??

Hi @luciusmaximus we have had a strange spring. It snowed at the beginning of March. We then had a couple of weeks of normal spring weather. Then it snowed again. In the middle of April we had a week of summer. Since then we have had a lot of rainy days. Today was beautiful. There was a ground frost first thing and then a beautiful clear blue sky for most of the rest of the day. My wife and I are going to the Isle of Wight tomorrow so we have our fingers crossed that the nice weather will hold for a few more days.

                    G.

The season is at least 4 weeks later than usual.......wallflowers usually start going over about now but still in full bloom. It looks like everything is catching up now though.:)

Weather is looking very promising.......rain should be gone by early morning and thereafter several dry warm days. However, the rain is welcome and should cause a surge in plant growth now; the lawns were fed yesterday so the rain is perfect for them :)

                        Thanks!
The only time that I shoot in RAW is when colour accuracy is absolutely critical. 99% of the time I'm ok just using manual mode.
When I do use RAW I use IrfanView to do the processing. It suits my needs for the little that I need for all my photos - cropping, re-sizing and small exposure tweaks. Very simple to use and completely intuitive.

Our "pink" "lollipop," acer. I prune it to this shape every November.

                                P1010393.JPG

It looks rather sparse now but will fill up to this later in the year.

It needs lots of water in the summer as our soil is very free draining.

Such a delicate shade of salmon pink at this time of the year.

The bluebells are out, we've masses of them around the garden. They'll be gone and the foliage cleared before the dahlias make an appearance.

                                P1010395.JPG

"The Giants are coming!" We've a couple of dozen of these tall lilies close to the fences around one side and the back of the garden. I give them a regular spray to control lily beetles.
