Sorry @shiney I have to confess, I kept it in a cold frame over winter and I think it's brown bread.
I had hopes earlier, but it turns out to be a self seeded poppy, I think.

Brand new clematis 'Anniseed' lovely choclately scent. Part of the Montana group but only grows to 3.0 - 3.5 metres. Plant launched earlier this year so brand new on the market.

Ours just stays in the greenhouse but I suppose that as it's a lot bigger than a cold frame it might retain some residual heat - but after the winter we had I'm not sure.

Doubly annoying as I planted mine out last year - it's croaked it :yikes:

To be honest, it just didn't look "that" tender, should have looked it up I guess.
The stuff that survives in my cold frame, you wouldn't believe, and it does get extra cover on frosty nights.
Just wonder if I let it get too dry overwinter, or possibly too wet.

They are pretty cold hardy @pete but they loath winter wet.
