    Quite busy today...
This morning I cleared an area of the top border, planting a clematis to go up the apple tree there, and transplanted the evicted sedums to around the pond's edge. The after a trip to a pond specialist to fail to buy some oxygenating plants (some on order for next week) I settled in the new goldfish. Turned the compost bays aka empty the middle bay, then refill the middle bay :th scifD36:.

Hoe-ed along the back of the house, so I can remove the weeds tomorrow, in preparation for laying some of the 2 tonnes of gravel (being delivered on Friday) along the path there this weekend :yikes:.

Then finished up with planting a hydrangea that has been sulking in a pot, in front of the "same" apple tree, with a winter viola in the planting hole to keep it company.

        Never did much today.
Just potted up some Basket of Fire chillies and Electric Daisies.
        The Electric Daisies were tiny.
Determined to do more in the garden tomorrow.

            It's true.
I had an interview today so I was occupied with preparing for it.

We've been working hard trying to get the garden ready for Open Day, but the weeds seem to have a different idea!

I've finally finished putting all the chicken wire around the veggie plots to keep the Wabbits out. They could easily jump over but usually don't jump that high (only knee height) unless escaping danger.

                  I really hate job interviews.
They are trying to pick the right person, in an hour interview, by just talking to you.
How can you show people how good you are at what you do just by talking to two people for one hour?
No wonder employees often pick the wrong person.

Moving gravel from dumpy bag to front of new greenhouse, think I shall need a couple more of these to finish the job.

The hardy geranium moved to it's permanent home today. Time will tell how hardy it is. It's impossible to dig a hole there because of the tree roots. I had to scrape out as much soil as I could, which wasn't a lot. I then broke up the rootball and spread the roots outwards. I added in a good mix of bark chipping, compost and bonemeal. Hopefully that will be enough to give it the start it needs.

Started to replace my log roll along my path as it started to rot and fall apart.
                            It's done well though.
It's originally from Great Mills (remember them?) and must be close to 20 years old.

It came to light there was a lot of soil in the gravel so I started to sieve it.

I drilled holes in the top of the pots I bought from Ikea last week and hung them from the post on my front gate. That's busy lizzies in them the new Imara strain called orange star.

Give the lawn a brush to loosen dead matter, quick mow to pick everything up. Went round with the hoe, the weeds are growing fast now. Been weeding out a ligularia prezwaskii, its self seeded everywhere. Potted some crocosmia lucifer corms up I keep forgetting about, got some gladioli I must plant tomorrow.

I am not having any flowers this year on the wisteria, gutted :frown: had loads of flower buds on last year but got hit by a hard frost before they opened, hope its not sulking. It only had a couple of flowers on since I bought it about 4 years ago.
