I am very lucky to have very mature trees which look so lovely at this time of the year.An arborist friend reckons many of them are early Victorian, yes they make a mess come autumn but the up side is I have huge quantities of leaf mould.
My favourite big tree is the Copper Beech in photo 1 it's such a gorgeous colour when 1st coming into leaf.The last photo is of part of our little wood. The wild Cherry blossom doesn't last long but lovely for a brief period.

 

I picked a couple up today from an airport today and took them home. Their garden hadn't been touched for 3 weeks. The lawn was covered in pink blossom. It was very pretty. It's a shame I didn't get a photo of it.

silu we had a tree like this on our front garden...my hubby on the sunday took it down to a small one with a round head...it was blocking the light out the home besides looking dangerous regarding storms.

 

Rhodo starting to come into bloom! So excited!!! Brought back from near death last year, this is the first year I've seen them flower...been wondering what colour they were

Snorky I have one in my garden the first two years it flowered and after the flowering on the second year all the leaves dropped off ...so I cut it right back, it's since been maturing back in another 2yrs and still no flowering...it's got me baffled as the flowers are lovely

 

Yes they are @Sheal thank you. I can take zero credit for them tho The tree you ask about is a Cedar Atlantica Glauca. Fabulous tree which has the most gorgeous pale blue grey cones come about September. This tree is not that old. It is probably about 50 years old so quite young in comparison to some of my others! Maybe you will have enough room to plant 1 in your new garden? They are quite fast growing in comparison to some trees so might not be in what I term the "lollipop stage" for long. I am not much of a fan of evergreens but love this tree. Suppose it isn't an evergreen rather an ever blue/grey

 

Thanks Silu. I'd like one but looking at it's spread it would probably cover part of my drive which runs down the centre of my front garden.

 

Do you get the buds on it but they don't come out? If not, it's going to take time to mature again.

 

Dwarf rhodedendron came up on here the other day. As I don't have the right soil was wondering whether one would grow in my garden if I left it in its pot.
