All our doors are plastic now. Some forty years ago we had a new kitchen door, with a hardwood frame. It went in quite quickly as they used a bolt gun to secure the frame, you could smell the cordite!

Hi Lori, actually when he came to have a look at the job on the Thursday afternoon he "volunteered" to help get the Telescope on the mount which was the most serious and awkward/dangerous thing to do, because of the height the Telescope needed lifting to get it on the mount and the size and weight of the Telescope.:coffee::snorky:

Pitch pine, for window frames and doors which was common in the Victorian era, seems to have completely disappeared. Looked after, it can be still intact, well after 150 years.

Actually if you find an original Victorian window with the same glass. It's thicker at the bottom than at the top, as glass stays to a certain extent, "liquid" and after many decades "floats" downwards.

I'm a bit ****ed at the moment as I've just drunk half a bottle of wine (given me by a neighbour) with my dinner, for lopping the top of their tree with my extending pruner. They're about ten years older than we and belong to a folk club which have regular meetings, during which they have raffles, with wine often given as prizes, but they don't drink. It felt a bit potent and I've just checked, it was a 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape, all of 14%.

Glad to hear you got it sorted @ARMANDII .

Today I had some great value time at the pub with the owner. She gave me the cheat sheet for how to pack in lots of sight seeing while I'm over the pond. And then a couple of young fe,lows were drinking shots and then eating large meals, all the while cheerful and polite. They weren't driving so were harmless and they were fun to watch. :)

Went to see keith this afternoon and disigned and made a birthday card for my son.
Don't know if you can see but it's holographic card. The square, butterflies and the lettering are die cut.
I stuck the square on with double sided tape. The butterflies are stuck with a foam pad on each. The lettering I used glue. The gems had a sticky backing.

                  A good effort.

My wife's into decoupage in a big way. She makes a lot of cards for family and friends, all tailored to suit their individual personalities and interests.

Our youngest two grandchildren (seven and eleven) picked up the interest and have been making their own for years. My wife regularly sends them "kit."

We always receive a handmade card from them. Something someone has gone to the effort to construct, as you have, I think is always appreciated more by the recipient.

I think you have to have a lot of time and patience and be handy with very a small pair of scissors.

Here's a few of her more recent ones, they aren't as detailed as those she makes for Christmas.

Thanks,I do all the cutting out in the evening when i can have the light on. I find that i can see the lines better without any shadows. Keith can just about manage to stick them on because of his MS, it's affected his hands.

Your wife's is good, so colourful.

As it was raining on Friday, I spent some time on my new leccy piano.

"I got a few of the neighbourhood kids to stand behind me and sing "Ooo!" whilst I recorded this."

Went to see Keith this afternoon, did more cards. Stuck double sided tape on the pics and put them on the card. He stuck sticky pads on the cut out and i put them on. He finds it very difficult to do it, with his MS.
