Stunning day.....sun all way through
Planted out groups of cosmos, agastaches, lupins, grasses and salvias. Going to be a relatively chilly night but everything planted has already been growing outside for a few weeks so should be fine. Grass cut too and time to sit and plan the planting:)

Had a good bash at my front garden.

Almost all done, just got to spread some horse manure around my roses.
There's buds all over the roses so I hoping for a good display soon.

I ignored the boss's orders to rest today and, as my back and shoulder were feeling a lot better, I did some gentle work. Two hours of weeding and just over an hour edge trimming. I'm aching a bit now but have a relaxing day tomorrow- four or five hours in a car and a few hours looking at gardens.

        I thing I'll have a sleep earlier than usual tonight - about 2 a.m.

Nothing like that growing here. The smell is unfortunately something I am familiar with

Went to hardware store earlier and bought a Cranesbill - not sure which variety it is as the label was in several languages I don't speak :snorky:. Also bought Geum' Flames of Passion ' ( I wish :lunapic 130165696578242 5: ). Spent afternoon fiddling about with the back border again and have now planted the new additions there.

Strimmed a bit of grass in front garden. Decided that such a glorious day should not be wasted so got out a zero g chair and chilled until 5 pm :) . The Sparrows using nest box on telegraph pole have babies :hapydancsmil::hapydancsmil:.

Planted the rockery up i was going to do a spill display but didn't bother, some cosmos love song in there and carpet of snow along with a few others mixed in i will add something to the front part at a later date,

Dug one of the borders over and planted more cosmos sunflowers, the runners beans i put in for privacy have started to get hold, new turf has got a grip and nearly ready for its first cut i sharpened the mower blade ready.

Good morning folks:). Another beautiful summer's day in prospect

Plenty of planting out later, hopefully including white Cleome, salvia guanajuato, gaura Corries Gold. Nematodes for veg patch are expected too:)

Going to do some more weeding and harden off the snapdragons. In a week the wallflowers might have finished so i can start planting out.

The practice I was working at today had a quiet afternoon so let me leave early - bonus couple of extra hours in the garden that I was technically being paid for, can't ask for better than that!

Cleared out all the large patio pots of their spring bulbs, the foliage is almost dead so I've left them out to dry for a few days and will then store them until autumn. This was the first year I'd tried "organised" spring bulbs rather than just throwing daffodils round the garden; the tulips and hyacinths in particular I was really pleased with so hoping they'll live to see another year.

I'm desperate to tidy up the beds, but although the daffodil flowers have finally faded there's still a lot of lush green foliage. This late cold spring has thown everything off. I daren't cut it back yet and risk next year's display, but I'm not sure how much longer I can look at the mess... :rolleyespink:

Played golf this morning, came home after lunch and started jet-washing the patios and paths around 3.00pm. Finished around 7.30 pm. The last hour was spent washing down everywhere where the spray had bounced off the patio.

A fair bit of re-pointing will be necessary tomorrow. But I've got to get some yellow cement dye. I'll probably have to go to Jewsons at Cheadle for it. But I'll phone first.

It been a lovely sunny day again, forecast to be dry all week. Might have a grass frost on Wednesday.

Been planting lots of plants over the weekend, got my meconopsis in today, chopped a bit off a helianthus lemon queen to plant with a buddleia black night, lots of watering and potting on a few other plants, Pruned the grapevine. Decided I need to plant more tulips in my pots next year

Sunday was another full day in the garden at mums and we finished doing the stones in the back border and planting up pots, tieing in clematis etc.

Drove home sunday afternoon and was shattered.

Yesterday i planted a few more plants in the garden and dug a bit more of a border over. Also spent 4 hours painting a section of fence. It's going to take forever :wallbanging:

Back to do some work in the garden soon....applying nematodes and more planting. Looks like all the dahlias outside have survived those beasts from the east so wont be digging any up. :)

Runner beans were very hit n miss this year; many seeds did not germinate and I understand others have experienced the same thing.

Not so sunny so far.....very misty but warm :noidea:
