      The Purple Sensation alliums at the back came out about a week ago and are looking fab. The others are that are just coming out are Violet Beauty. There are less dense an slightly lighter in colour. In the picture they look shorter but they aren't really. It's a bit disappointing as I was hoping for a bit more of a contrast. Harder to see are a third type that are tiny. They are Graceful Beauty. They are supposedly whte with purple stamens. I will know when they come out.

                  @longk Agree not the most attractive name. It is a close relative of the alliums, also known as honey garlic. The tripedale refers to fact that the stem is 3ft long.
