A lousy shot but we all know it's a Bullfinch, the first one I've seen in my garden.

Mrs Shiney did one of her rescues yesterday. I think this is a thrush and it hit the window with an extremely loud bang :yikes: and was unconscious for about ten minutes. She mixed up one of her concoctions for the bird and after a few minutes opened its beak and used a dropper bottle to put a couple of drops in. It didn't move or open its beak or eyes but started a very gentle wheezing. It was a single sound every two seconds or so. She held it in one hand and did some Reiki healing with the other. After 20 minutes it opened its eyes and looked at her but didn't do anything. She gave it another couple of drops which it drank. It then started struggling so she put it on the ground and it promptly fell over. So she picked it up again and sat with it for another ten minutes and then put it down and it stood up. After a minute or so she put it in the shade under the Euonymous next to them, put a container of water next to it and after about half an hour it flew away.

                Beautiful moth @roders :blue thumb:

Sanderlings (and one Dunlin, far right) at Hengistbury Head, they should have moved up to Iceland or thereabouts by now to breed but they must be enjoying the sunny weather.

Decided on a day off from gardening today and went to Geirionydd Lake in Snowdonia and had a lovely walk. Spotted a Yellow Wagtail, some kind of Tit we were unfamiliar with, possibly a Sombre Tit and heard a Cuckoo calling. Amazing voice, echoing off the surrounding hills :). Didn't see any squizzers though

I really enjoyed most of it and we had a picnic by the lake afterwards. The bit I didn't enjoy was half of the pathway around the lake is a tarmac path the other half is a narrow, rough terrain path. I saw some really good shots but couldn't take them as too busy scrambling up a vertical cliff face and negotiating rocks and tree roots  :phew:. Very undignified you know :lunapic 130165696578242 5: but worth it as Snowdonia is just so beautiful.

Lucius, probably a Marsh or even the more uncommon Willow Tit. Sombre Tits are only found in Greece/Turkey through to the Middle east.

I'm not sure what we saw, viewing through binoculars so not able to get a pic. It looked to be about the size of a Great Tit. As you say it was most likely a Marsh Tit. I googled some images, what we saw was similar but I think it had deeper brown on its brest.
