My Jalapeno chillies turned out to be sweet peepers !- supplier seed mix up . This is a photo of it 3 weeks ago . Now how do I tell when it is ripe and ready for picking
I presume there may be no colour change like most chillies.

You think you have problems @HarryS :). I can't grow the damn things at all really. Any I have tried never get past the green stage come September and are not a lot bigger than proper Chillis which I can grow. You have not endeared yourself to me showing a good sized Sweet Pepper in May for god's sake!:snorky: How has this been achieved?

@silu , well it's not skill , blooming thing is supposed to be a Jalepeno :snorky:. I just keep them on the windowsill in a spare south facing bedroom. Just moving them out to the GH this week.

This makes me feel a shed load better not @HarryS :). I've pampered mine in the past in a heated propagator and then greenhouse, talked to nicely, kept watered properly and fed as required. Result a rude version of not good:rolleyespink:

From my understanding (I may be wrong) but I believe that if it’s a chillie or pepper that they do change colours

If you want it ripe, it will change colour, but often best to pick green early in the season as that one will stop others forming.
The taste is better when ripe, I think, but just like those packs you get in the supermarket, a couple of coloured ones and a green one, (unripe).
