Could be over-watered - are they standing in water? Cucumbers are very temperamental !

I'm just wondering if I should put outside into the soil with it being a Marketmore type instead of greenhouse. If I put outside should I put in shady place or full sun.

Hi @jane0o0 I saw one like yours years ago and members might laugh but my parents had a competition on who could grow the largest ones
Mom had hers in the front living room...dad had his in the back and was watering it regular and my mom only did it slight every couple of days but had it where it was sun in the morning and shade in the afternoon...where it was constant sun for my dad...well a few weeks later the length and size of my moms words cant explain [IMG]….my dads was identical to yours and never got no where

It's strange that your marigold is also wilting, did you just repot them both?

Also have a look at the cucumber stem just above the soil, is it healthy? That's a place where a slug can take a nibble sometimes. The stem must not be buried any deeper than it was when you potted up.

Have you a max/min thermometer, it was extremely hot earlier this week. Its cooler now so I would leave it in your greenhouse.

                  Hi,

Cucs can be very fickle and have had them just give up half way though growing.

Are you watering via the inner ring ? they say its very easy for the stem to rot at ground level if watered there, so always use a sunken pot to water down to the roots, or in your case only via the outer ring.

Is the location of the cuc in the shadiest part of the greenhouse, though clearly moist, wonder if its wilting because its got too hot / lack of air circulation.

Have you tried spraying the leaves with water to see if that revives it ( not in direct sunlight) or is it looking better this morning.

Assume your Toms are looking ok ?

I've checked the leaves and stem and all seem ok though its still wilted today. I've covered it with fleece to see how it goes in next couple days. Where my greenhouse sits we have trees so give it shade but come afternoon the sun does get to it so I'm also now wondering if it was the sun or cold as temps do seem to drop at night. Everything from my toms, pepper, aubergine, courgette seem ok.

                      Hi,

The other plants look good and healthy, the odd thing out is the marigold by the cuc, why is it wilting ?

Still think over watering or overheating the possible cause..

There is one tell tale sign and thats the very bottom of the cane by the root of the cuc, it looks very wet, and so will be the stem of the cuc, just under the surface and seems thats what they hate, hence saying water only on the outer ring or better still just into the soil around the edge of the black pot.

If it was me I would not water it until the top of the compost in the green pot and black tub turn a light brown colour showing they are getting dry and then only water lightly via the black pot.

Still time to buy or grow a replacement as I find early cucs give up long before the summer and toms are finished.

A nursery I buy some young toms from have their plants so dry you would not believe it, they put uop a notice to say thats to make them more stronger plants and less sappy growth.

Its so easy to over water, but let the plants tell you, if the compost looks dry and the leaves are starting to wilt then a watering is needed.

My toms in those same pots as yours, 3 truss and I haven't watered them for several days, the compost surface still looks moist.

Also you could put something under the black tubs to ensure they can drain out better, assume there were holes at the bottom of yours, sometimes when new they only leave closed up holes in case you do not want them open draining.

Looks like overheating to me as well. Are you feeding it as well.

Looks like the roots have stopped working.
                          So, overwatering or cold nights.
Unless you have just repotted and disturbed the roots badly.
Not sure cold nights is an option now.

I gave it some tomato feed a week ago. I'm not sure if I've overwatered it but it hasn't been watered for a few days now but the soil still feels wet. It does get rather hot in afternoon once the sun comes over. My greenhouse has tree cover also as its next to a lot of trees in my garden. Should I put some greenhouse shading up? Or would that be a no no when I've got tomatoes growing that need the sun.
