For @ARMANDII - as discussed at Shiney's Open Day - although I did miss hear you to begin with I thought you said Cannabis plants ! Was a bit shocked as you don't look the sort of guy to grow that :)

Here are my sarracenia today, probably looking the worst at this time of year, last years untidy pitchers and the new ones are yet to develop:

Will be interested to see yours and any other folk who grow them.

You shamed me into tyding mine up just a bit, although not a lot to see at the moment.
Sarracenia leucophylla, is about all I have left these days.
Frozen solid just a couple of months ago in the March freeze, neglected, apart from being kept water logged all year:redface::smile:

But they are making a comeback, always found they do better with some protection, if only from the wind that damages new soft pitchers as they form, slugs also can be a problem outside.

Mine froze completely too pete. I made the mistake leaving them outside as in past winters I've put them in a cold greenhouse.

I think they can take the freeze, especially the more northern ones like purpurea.
But I tend to think some protection helps with the appearance, if you want good looking pitchers.

Mine are flowering nicely and producing new pitchers. I moved them into the cold greenhouse just before the Beast from the East. They also need a tidy up.
            Pictures to follow.

I always thought I didn't like them but seeing these I've got to get some.

Here's my very new collection, John, the newest arrived only on Wednesday from Triffid Nurseries, while the first batch, [and the smallest] were bought from Carnivorous Plants Co, and there's another 4 coming from Hewitt and Cooper Carnivorous Plants.:snorky:

I have the most problems with Venus fly traps, they tend to disappear after a few years the pitcher plants keep going and will probably need thinning out next winter. Several Drosera regularly self seed into the moss and should appear soon for the summer.

I always found venus flytrap to be less likely to survive a decent frost, so always kept them at a winter min of 5C
Never tried Darlingtonia, which might be worth a go.

I did get involved with Nepenthes for a few years, but apart from N. alata I found getting the conditions right, not easy.
Too cool in winter, not enough humidity in summer etc.
Not a great picture, but the best I can find from 9 yrs ago, was it that long ago

Sundews are everywhere around here, mainly round leaved but there are all three. Some where in one of the bogs there are (introduced) Pitcher plants growing wild.
