I don't think that we save money, but a home grown tomato taist a lot better than bought ones.

 

I cost it by judging how much I’d actually have to pay for tomatoes of an equal quality in the supermarkets. By that measure - I save a bloody fortune!!

 

I poke my finger in the flowers which works too.

 

A few of my mega blooms on my Black Krims. Got 9 in total! Oh and in case you’re wondering about the pink thingy.......reusing single use tourniquets- I’m a chemo nurse and we go through dozens of these every day!

 

I am pretty happy with my toms now, last few weeks they have shot up in the greenhouse, some have gone to two fruiting branches too so ill just flow with it

Still got my bush ones to properly get going but they are coming on nicely too.

I’ve been reading up on horsetail fertiliser. Apparently good for protecting against blight. Anyone had any experience with it? Seems you use it as a spray on the leaves. Not got it in the garden but know of a few spots locally where it grows so might give it a go

Here’s a link to a recipe which seems really easy. Apparently horsetail is rich in silica which provides a shield against the blight spores.

Might give the aspirin a go too!

Apparently good for anything prone to fungal infestations so might try it on my courgettes and the roses which alway get black spot

 

Don't have a lot of it horsetail but let us know how you got on with your roses.
