Sorry , but you started with your "it takes a lot to come back after having a baby." As if what she's done was something unusual. I replied that a lot of women have done it, so no big deal (to them and many probably got themselves, fitter, more quickly).

But it's all beside the point. It was the ridiculousness of the catsuit on which I was commenting.

But that's Nike for you, the dominant apparel maker in sport. They got Roger Federer to do an "Alec Guinness impersonation," he turned up on court once as, "The Man in the White Suit."

You missed my point there, I was taking the rise out of "the marketing speak." I don't do smilies.

Did my time in marketing, decades ago. I know most of the "buzzwords."
They formed the basis for the "buzzword bingo game," in management meetings.

Nonsense ! It`s just not a good idea to make derogatory comments about people like that - especially on a friendly forum like this. I was always to taught to think whatever I liked, but say little.

Try doing a few smilies - just for a laugh :):):psnp::pathd::hapydancsmil::whistle::old::ccheers:

Actually, I think the irony is that you, Riley, as a male, dismiss the females function and experiences of having a baby and getting back to supreme fitness without any actual physical knowledge of it in the male traditional way.

I didn't use the word "unusual" which, again, sounds slightly dismissive. What I said was that we males have no idea of the physical experience of pregnancy or what follows but we're quite willing to describe it as "no big deal".

Again, I think differently, it was certainly different in fashion but would you have approved if it had been on a younger more petite Tennis Player? As I said Serena is not a small person, she's a 36 year old mother and probably has more courage that any of the many persons willing to criticise her.

All the major companies are inventing new words to highlight their products every year, while the younger generation are doing it at a faster pace. For whatever reason languages are being changed and added to every day.:dunno::snorky:

          @ARMANDII well said!
I wasn't going to comment but having had a section ( without the life threatening blood clots thank god ) I think its really bizarre to comment on a woman's outfit rather than her fitness and ability to compete at the highest levels

Armandii, I'm not going to bother to respond to a lot of what you've posted. Other than don't suggest that I think or said, more than I did.

You seem to have a problem with my opinion, which was that Serena looked ridiculous in a cat suit that did nothing for her, but it certainly gave Nike some undeserved publicity.
Nothing you can say will change my opinion, you in turn of course can have an opinion on anything you choose, it won't bother me.

Some are necessary, like the names of new drugs. Where there is a perfectly adequate word or words already in the dictionary, I can't see the point of allowing new ones.

But you aren't going to sell many dictionaries unless you continually add new words.

That's the point, you didn't say "little."

Sorry, but your remarks were unnecessarily personal, try reading them again and posting fewer smilies, they don't excuse your behaviour.

Having a contrary opinion to someone else on a message board is fine, slagging that person off at the same time because you disagreed, isn't.
