After a bit of TLC, some mycorrhizal fungi and the odd spray of Rose Clear our £22, runt of the litter, rose has a whole batch of buds waiting to flower. A bit like our approach to gardening, it's not perfect but it's trying.

Im liking my Welsh onion and the chives in the background looking not bad either.

Excuse the weeds they're rampant in that area. Wildlife seems to like it though, there are a lot of snails living in there and a big toad lives in the logs in the background.

That's an expensive one @Moley - what variety is it?

I've partially resolved the problem with our tortoise shell rhodo.
I've removed a couple of branches on the right-hand side. Actually it makes it more balanced, so it's not a problem.

I've also staked a couple of branches of the crowded rhodo to the right of it, to encourage them to grow forwards rather than towards the fence. At least now it's got some breathing room and has put on some prodigious growth. I think I'll now let it fight it out with those on either side.

All our rhodos have put on a lot of growth this year. This small one the other side of the tortoise shell one in particular, which I dead-headed nearly a week ago.

There'll be a lot more deadheading to do later.

I found two lily beetles in flagrante delicto on the top leaf of a giant lily! I ask you, have they no shame?

My two Ceanothus are looking a bit tasty, well at least the bees think so.

Been working in Newport this week, and found a lovely park in the middle of the town to spend my lunchtimes. I think this is a cistus of some sort? It looked spectacular in the sun, must have been at least 5m long.

The leaves don't look right for a Cistus @2nd_bassoon and the flowers have a papery look to them. I'm at a loss as to what it is though, sorry.

A little past its best but still stunning , Clematis Crystal Fountain . Just planted late last year to replace a 10 year old Niobe which decided it had had enough of this earth. Just 3 flowers all right at the base of the plant.
