Hi @wiseowl and @Palustris I have Japanese anemones and their leaves are thicker and darker and more seated I think than these and it isn't Astrantia from what I can see the leaves are not right.. I have Atrantia major and Roma and the leaves very different... Ho hum, the leaves look familiar but can't think what it is, they are shiny as well!

OK just been out and looked at my plant and the Japanese anemone..Very similar but.. On the Japanese the leaves are much darker and more leathery and the stalks are completely different.. The Japanese A have much thicker stalks than my plant... I don't think I would have bought another Jap A as already got some....

Thanks for pointing it out @Silver surfer, Yes so I see but not me..!

There is one answer on there saying possibly Geranium nodosum and the leaves are very similar so could well be.. So I shall wait to see what the flowers are like.. The leaves and stems are different to all my other geraniums, which are flowering or have already flowered, but that could be the reason why I bought it as it was different and presumably flowers later as no flowers yet..

                          Thanks everyone

I did try hard to id this one.
At first I thought Tolmiea menzies...but on looking at my images it didn't fit as the leaves are hairy.

                            Tolmiea menziesii - Google Search

Guess we will need to be patient and wait for flower.
Coincidence someone else is puzzled..plant looks identical to yours.
                            Not convinced re Geranium suggestion.
