I was thinking exactly the same thing this morning Riley. :)

Perhaps you don't want to buy this sold unseen FC but at only six months old there can't be much or anything wrong with it. Your ramp problem can be sorted out a little later. OT should be able to provide those for you.

It just depends on what the maximum bid the single prospective buyer has applied. It could be several hundred pounds and there's always the chance someone else who's interested could make a late bid, when it rises to the top of the listing.

If it were me in this situation, I'd be able to find a neighbour or friend willing to stick it in their garage until I was ready to use it.

      Update!

I've been pushing it as bit physio wise, and it is paying off - I am lucky to have a really good physio, who is really pro-active, and she too is getting things moving with OT. The original plan was for me to change from a gutter frame to as normal zimmer frame - that happened yesterday, however in the interim Mrs C and I had been working on getting me standing from various things without using the hoist. This meant that I took to the new frame like a duck to water, and long story short we all ended up having a wander in the garden :)

I overdid it a Wee bit, as it left me extremely nauseous for a while, but it is still a victory. Physio was so pleased that she reckoned walking sticks were in order next.

After the physio had gone, and I had a rest, Mrs C was in the kitchen starting dinner - I decided that I had a bit more mischief in me, and managed to stand myself up, unaided, from the sofa - this is the sofa that the hospital OT said I would never be able to stand up from again. Mrs C's face when I called her into the living room was a picture (and the following cuddle only made me all the happier).

Then, last night we decided to dig out our Restform bed, as it is quite a height, and blow it up - it sits slightly higher than the seat of the sofa, and I was able to shuffle round the sofa and roll on and off the bed, so for the first time since I took ill, Mrs C and I were in the same bed last night. My pillows weren't quite right, so I have a bit if a sore neck today which has stopped me using the computer (I am typing this on my phone) but it was still worth it.

Physio was so chuffed with the progress yesterday that she returned today (not meant to be back until next week) with walking sticks and I had a shot with one of those around the living room. Then we got really brave and had a shot at a couple of stairs. I only managed two, but for a first attempt.....

OT will apparently be in touch regarding ramps, bannisters and rails and the physio has also done a referral to the wheelchair team, but has warned that they can take months and even then still refuse to help, so it looks like as chair will be a decision for us ourselves. Still, of that is all I am having to worry about, it's not bad!

Do be steady, not leaping. Take one step forward every time. Not two forward and one back. Been there and done something as risky.

Be safe and be here. Giant hugs. And, do please converse with others on the mend. Give yourself permission to be reasonable. :)

                    Further update!

With a MASSIVE amount of help from friends, I am mobile! I had my first excursion today, and I have to say although a bit scary in places (the pavements around here are shockingly bad), I made it without incident. So nice to be out in the early sun, with a lovely breeze - I was even able to whizz around my patio and do a bit of weeding and tidying up when I got home.

You really cannot underestimate the difference this has made to me, nor can it be over-emphasised that I simply would not have been able to do this without huge amounts of help, advice and support from friends. They know who they are, and they hopefully also know just how special they are! I am beyond grateful.

                    20180703_105919.jpg

I still very much have my 'L' plates on, but will be getting plenty of practice over the next few days - docs tomorrow, other appointments on Thursday (will have to go on a bus for those!) and then I have family coming to visit thereafter.

I think it is safe to say that I am over the moon to be able to get out and about, as well as being able to whizz around at least half of my garden, and have a lovely comfy seat to do it from.
