Because it's caused by too much wetness which shouldn't happen in a gh. Never had it in over 30 years growing gh tomatos. Only had it outside after prolonged rain.

Would a bucket of water, standing in the greenhouse all the time to raise humidity be enough to cause it?

I've had it a few times in my greenhouse over the years Redwing. It's a fungal infection that is wind borne. Obviously outdoor crops are more susceptible but one year I had it inside the greenhouse and my outdoor crop was untouched a few yards away.

When we're able to start using all those banned chemicals again, tomatoes might start tasting like they used to years ago :ideaIPB:

Maybe a silly question but how do most people add their fertiliser? I've always watered it in from the top but is this actually most effective or would standing the pots in a water/fertiliser mix work better ?

The feeding roots are supposedly higher up and the lower roots take up water. I think that only comes in play when they are planted, are yours in big pots? I'd continue feeding from the top.

Not in their final pots yet but they'll go into 24cm pots I should think

Looking good, Jane...I was thinking about one of these before deciding on using plant shade mesh, how does it fasten to the greenhouse and once fastened does the magnetic seal work OK?
