My wife loves zucchini but we have never planted it because our space is limited and it just takes up too much room. This year she suggested planting zucchini in her patio containers on the deck. I thought it was a crazy idea, but as it turns out she was right and I was wrong. What else is new?

They look great. I have had zucchinis in containers many times and they usually grow well.

And I agree with @Gail_68 - a wife usually knows the best. :heehee:

They seem to be doing extremely well!

I have 6 which came yesterday on the post, for now still developing on a windowsill.
Given I do not have space in the beds for more than 4, I was thinking of putting the rest in either a patio container or a few self watering pots.
But I was warned that they require quite a lot of space, and soil, to do well.

If I may ask, what is the size of your patio containers?
Do you have two in each container?

            Thanks!
            Aldo

              Aldo,
This is the system we are using. We have had them for several years and they work extremely well. Yes, there are two plants in each container.

Thanks so much for getting back to me!

I just checked and they say your planter is around 1,5 cubic feet in volume, so 40 liters. Someone said 25 quarts, which is actually less than that, 30 liters or so.
But I will go with the higher volume just in case.
