She is my friend, my newest daughter, and marches to her own tune. She is 60 pounds now and just loves to eat kale and dandelions which I buy by the create every week.

Now only does she have a small area in my kitchen with a night sleeping area but she has a 12 X18 feet greenhouse with a 100 gallon horse tank for her to sleep in with heat. She also has a fenced in area outside that is 15 X 20 with a condo that she can use year round.

20170210_095514.jpg She loves to go out and play in the winter snow but only for about 15 minutes at a time.

She may get to be 150 pounds and will certainly outlive us. Don't know what will happen to her at that point but someone in my life will take her and love her..very one know our little Alice and would give anything to keep her.

We live her and she loves us as much as a tortoise can love...LOL

            Thank you.
She is not a mushy type pet and is not very noisy but she knows us well and loves us. AND AN EATING MACHINE.....She eats a heavily packed bushel of kale and a bushel of dandelions every week.

It is cute to see how happy she is when I open the door and there is snow out there.
We have allot of animals in our life but Alice is the star.

When we have our yearly "county garden tour" people first ask if they can see Alice then walk through the gardens.

We were surprised also since she is from north Africa. She just wanted outside in the worse way one day, so we opened her door and out she went... we were in shock.

This is what we found in our wall one day when she wanted to be outside.
                    20160404_175854.jpg
She did this with her front arms, hence the name Spur Thigh Tortoise. They can rip anything apart and move a mountain with those front arms.

Here is her first meeting with snow. She can't wait to get out in it but only for 15 minutes at a time.
                    20161205_093623.jpg

Then she has to go back in to her bed to get warm again.
                    .jpg

Yes I had to paint the 100 gallon horse tank pink. She is really happier with that color.... LOL There is a heat pad on the floor of the tank for her to get hear underneath and a light to heat the cement floor and 2 heaters to heat the greenhouse room..

Then in winter she is ready to go outside again..

Yes, you are right. BUT, your leopard won't need the space that Alice does. Not a cheap pet.
